These work great for my extended range guitars. I had purchased a hard case only to find out it would not fit my legator. Although these have thin padding, they fit larger guitars and provide protection. The side pockets are actually quite deep to put cables or whatever you need in them.

Initially I thought this was a good (enough), cheap bag to keep a Jackson JS22-7 DKA Dinky HT (an admittedly cheap 7-string electric guitar) stored in.While the guitar would slide around in the generous interior, I felt like it provided enough protection for the instrument to be stored in a closet with several of my other guitars.I just now picked up the case by its handle to lift it out of the closet and I suddenly felt the guitar slide out of the case and heard it hit the floor from a height of approximately 18-24". I picked up the guitar and found a crushed edge and a dent on the bottom.The zipper, which wraps around the bottom of the bag, had separated and allowed the instrument to slide out and hit the floor.The only solution that I see is to sew up the lower part of the zipper in order to keep it closed.Warning! Under no circumstance should you trust ANY instrument to this bag!I own 27 other gig bags by various other manufacturers (each of my instruments without hard shell cases) and all of them have more rugged zippers.But, I'm "gun shy" now and will be considering sewing those that have wrap around zippers.Be warned.
