We had three Sunbrealla-covered awnings that rotted away and the replacement cost is now exorbitant, to say the least. Now we are left with three awning pipe frames and what to do about it, the dear wife came up with replacing the fabric with 1"x2" wood slats and the picture shows the beautiful and durable result.Used 312 of these very high-quality, self-drilling screws at an acceptable price. Each slat required 4 screws which we predrilled both the wood slat and the pipe with a 3/32" drill bit. We decided to pre-drill for each screw because going into a rounded pipe would not be possible. The wood now penetrated and served as a guide to the screw tip going into the pipe, which might otherwise slip around. Worked out beautifully but had to set the drill chuck cam out at (stop drilling) number 12, otherwise the screw would go in too far into the wood. Highly suggest you practice a dozen times or so to get used to this type of screwing or you may get bad results here and there in your project.Have a bunch of screws left over but the price for them was very good anyway.

These screws work perfect . They do not break when they get in a bind. I also like the box they came in. Very sturdy and the bible verse was just a beautiful plus to a hard job . I had to put a new deck on a 32ft trailer . Terry

I bought these to install trailer decking and I can't say enough good things about them. I used a corded drill and not a single one snapped despite my subpar technique.

I really liked how durable the product was. I had a couple of them not line up with the holes that I had drilled, but they never broke or stripped. My Milwaukee impact hit them with everything it had. I am satisfied with these and would recommend. I was pretty hurt to find that they shorted me two screws, but I guess life goes on.

These worked perfectly to attach wood to steel. They are hardened and I never had one break. They are value for the money. I have a 22’ support beam made of steel 2â€x4†14ga rectangular tubing. I wrapped western red cedar around the beam using these screws.

Really worked fine with no pilot hole. I used them to secure the flooring in my trailer. I set my drill on high and applied a lot of pressure and Walla.

They might work well for self tapping into light gage steel but are almost worthless when attaching 2â€x10†into 2â€x3†angle iron “. Predrilling both the wood and steel didn’t help. The screws certainly won’t ’drill their own holes’ without extreme pressure just to get through the wood and then fail when they hit the steel. The ‘paddles’ used to create clearance holes in the wood break off when they hit the steel and then jam in the holes, which had to be pre drilled just to get them started, stripping the threads off the screws.Would be wonderful if they performed as advertised but they are a frustration and waste of time and $ in many applications.

I haven’t actually used yet but I’m definitely feeling secure and even excited about decking the two trailers i need to deck, i have these and two other kinds and I’m thinking these will work better than the others but as i said, I haven’t actually used them yet!

These will not even self tap into aluminum without a pilot hole. Note these do not come with driver bit for the screws.Extremely overpriced

I fastened the new deck planks on my 16 foot trailer. These screws work very well for that as they are self threading. The only thing that I found is that there are some variations in steel strength and so some holes had to be pre drilled.

I used these screws when I replaced the floor boards on my aluminum trailer. The screws don't require pilot holes, you can drive them directly through the wooden boards and then to the aluminum frame. The side tabs help drill through the wood without catching on it, then break off once you drill through the aluminum frame as the screw grabs the metal. The torx head is solid and avoids stripping; the color matches the wood, so they blend in. I drove 100 screws and did not break or damage a single one. Worth the extra cost, as I first tried cheaper screws which kept breaking and stripping.
