I like the slide out magnifier particularly because it changes the lighting based on magnification distance/location. Mine came with batteries. I bought it/them for casual use after buying a tiny fossil. Works for my needs & was a good value.Not great for really young kids or stubborn adults who won’t heed the “don’t shine this very bright light directly in your eye†warning.

I use this to inspect my plants for tiny pests. I was able to use it to inspect one of my succulents and was actually able to see the flatmites and their eggs on the leaves. The light is surprisingly bright and illuminages everything very clearly. Here you can see just how much it magnified this tiny leaf for me to see those tiny eggs and mites all over it.

This has to be one of the best products available at this price point. Whatever you are buying this for will be magnafied like a boulder at 90x. I cannot say enough about the quality of the item and it's impeccable performance. You will not be dissapointed with this one!

works but made horribly, sharp edges that can cut. The black metal cover that you have to flip the lens out of is stamped metal and the edges are so sharp. Also there are tons of knicks in the plastic part where the lenses are, I feel like I got one that should have been rejected. The second one with the plastic cover that slides out is great. I will return and look for a different brand though, I don't need to slice my finger on this.

I am sorry I didn’t order a metal product but for the price, this is a good bet. Nice that it goes to 30x and has UV.
