Our pup eats like a lil piggy and gets her self all choked up sometimes , this has helped her to eat slower and not choke on her food . The design is nice and it is sturdy it was a decent price . I would definitely recommend

This has made a huge impact on how fast my 115 lb Labrador eats. Sometimes he’d wolf down his food so fast he’d throw up. Now he’s forced to take his time and no issues. I feel it’s much healthier for him to eat slowly. He hasn’t chewed on the feeder so it holds up great.

My 5 month old golden retriever ended up with an emergency vet visit after throwing up and foaming at the mouth uncontrollably. With x-rays and a thorough check it was determined that he ended up with a condition called bloat, which can turn deadly for dogs. It was all from eating too fast! I bought this bowl (actually 3 because I do have 2 other dogs), and it has slowed their feeding immensely. I feel much safer knowing he can now eat a bit slower, enjoy his food, and most importantly hopefully avoid bloat and another ER visit or worse.

I have a big male German Shepherd who just about dives through the bottom of his steel bowl at dinner time. He's managed to choke several times, so I decided to get him a bowl to slow him down.The bowl is a good size that holds his dinner, which is large nuggets of purina pro plan. He gets about 1 1/2 cups at each meal and this will hold that. The plastic is pretty solidly made, very smooth, so easy cleaning won't be a problem and where the food sits is wide enough to get in there and clean it. The bowl has rubber feet that keep it from sliding and the center of gravity is nice and low, so very low chance of him tipping the food out.Since he can only really get his tongue in the grooves to get at the food it takes him a couple of minutes to eat now. He doesn't seem to mind the bowl change at all.

We've got a 3rd dog now, a female Golden Retriever puppy who tries to beat the new World Record for the fastest eating time for a cup of dry puppy food.This bowl certainly has helped and she now takes 2-3 minutes to finish her food which give us time to let the two other adults eat in peace! We can now feed them all at the same time and this bowl has made feeding time so much easier.Our puppy finishes her bowl -after- the adults have emptied theirs so this really has worked out well.It well made, handles the dish Washer fine and is no slip on a smooth floor or on a piece of carpet "placemat".I suggest users spread the food out to one layer all around the maze of this to offer the best slow eating experience. Don't just pour the dry food in a pile or this defeats what this bowl is designed for.Granted, since they are growing, they are very hungry at meal time and want it in their stomachs ASAP, but, as they get to the 1 1/2 - 2 year mark, typically that craving tends to decrease to the point where they'll eat slower.5 Stars all around and she'll probably use this until she is another year or more older than she might not need it as we've seen with past puppies we've raised.
