When it's squeezed together, tension is released and the cord lock can move freely up and down the cord.
When released, tension is engaged and the cord lock stays in place.
These are great for use on sweat pants or hoodies to keep from losing the drawstring and to tighten the drawstring as well.

Looked at several before I found these locks with strong 7mm capacity double holes. These locks have strong springs that really grip the drawstrings. Use them with drawstrings in hoodies and sweatpants and they provide great holding power.

These don’t have teeth to lock the cord in the hole so cord will just pull out . Don’t waste your money.

The function seems fine but they did not allow my 5mm shock cord to pass through without some serious effort, argument, and a bit of a bribery.

They claim the gate for the cord is 7mm. It’s not. It’s maybe 4mm at most. Do not purchase.
