Couple rocks got rid of the splash

the water pump is inoperative after only a few uses since we got it in September. It did work perfectly, so it could be me. Otherwise, it's really great.

After two weeks this fountain start having the water splash out, which I did not want as using this inside.

We bought this fountain to replace one we have near our back porch that, after a decade, had started to leak. In particular, we were looking for a roughly 3 ft tall three tiered fountain with a small bowl on top that birds could use and one that held as close to 10 gallons of water as possible. Oh, and we were looking for fairly cheap, too. Looking at the item description, this Jeco seemed to fit the bill perfectly.We received it promptly and set it up in about 5 minutes. Instructions are good, though they don't mention the cord exit slot for the fountain and I missed that the first time I set it up. No big deal. Other than a little splashing until I got the bowls in the base a certain way, it looks, sounds, and functions well. Size is good and it's light enough to move around easily when empty.On the disappointing side, first is the capacity. The listing said, and still says as I write this review, that the capacity is 10-15 gallons. It is not. By my calculations, it holds around 3.5 gallons before overflowing. I am wondering if they meant 10-15 liters instead. In any case, that was disappointing as it means having to fill it up more often than would be required with a larger capacity. On the plus side, the smaller capacity does mean easier cleaning.Before going on to the bigger issue, I need to tell you where we have this fountain. The Amazon description clearly says INDOOR fountain. Our location is on our covered rear porch. Strictly speaking, this could be considered outdoor as it's not in an air conditioned space and temperatures this summer did reach 100 degrees F. However, the location does not get direct sunlight except early in the morning and it is protected by the roof from rain and other elements.Also, before buying the fountain, I consulted the Jeco site. The description read, and still does today, as follows:"Classically designed with an ethereal element, this indoor-outdoor water fountain brings it's soothing qualities to your home. On top of spiraling column, there is three traditional bowls. Water flows from the top bowl to the spiraling column."Given this description from the manufacturer (i.e. the "indoor-outdoor" part), I was and still am of the opinion that our use is appropriate.So, if you have looked at the uploaded pictures, you will see both exposed white fiberglass and also what appear to be water bubbles. Well, those bubbles are in fact bubbled finish and if you pop the bubbles the finish comes off and you get exposed white fiberglass. My guess is that the heat on the rear covered porch was more than the fountain could take. Not sure, but that's my guess. In any case, it's disappointing.We still like the fountain and my plan is to sand the finish and re-paint it with something more durable. At this price, you can't expect extremely high quality, but given that our old fountain of similar material lasted 10 years without this issue, it's not the quality I would have hoped for.Final thoughts:If you plan to use this fountain indoors, be aware that it will take a little tweaking to prevent splashing over the sides. The pump is not adjustable for flow and depending on how level your area is and how you set the bowls in the base, you may have some splashing over. If you plan to use the fountain outdoors, then be aware of the issue I had with the finish.

very pretty and easy to put together (which was good because we got the wrong instructions) minimal splashing and a nice footprint. It shipped faster then expected too.

Unfortunately, this item came damaged in multiple places. I mailed it as a gift and it came in a large box with brown paper wrapping around the fountain as securement. I really love the fountain and wish I could have a non damaged one.

Great outdoor piece. I highly recommend! Less water splash but sounds beautiful!
