This product is number one in my opinion. Before putting it to use I checked the perpendicularity of the saw blade to the table. The instructions say that the machine might go out of adjustment due to shipping, as was my case. I adjusted the set screw stop and checked the relation of the saw blade to the table which was perfect. This should also be accomplished with the 45-degree set screw located below the 90-degree set screw stopNext, I checked the relationship of the blade to the fence. In this case I made a minor adjustment to the detent which is also the scale that displays the angle of the blade to the fence. I loosened the three metric screws that retain the scale and then moved the saw with the lock engaged in the scale until it was at right angles to the fence. This was a minor adjustment. Afterwards, I re-tightened the screws, re-checked the right angle of the blade to the fence. Now it is perfectThe laser guide is a good reference but should not be relied upon. The saw blade is slightly more than a 1/64 of inch from where the saw blade falls. Accordingly, the use of a tape measure for precise measurements is necessary. The laser will get you in the "ballpark" but one's tape measure measured against the saw blade is best.

Out of the box the detents on the saw needed to be adjusted. This was not a problem, every aspect of this saw has adjustments. Put a Forrest blade on it and the saw cuts like a dream. The only drawback that the saw has is that the led light is aligned on the right side of the blade so when you have your work on the left the blade itself blocks the light on your crows foot. I’ve had it in daily use for over a month and I’m getting clean accurate cuts every time without any further adjustmentsUpdate. 12/24. Still producing accurate consistent cuts without any major adjustments from the initial unpacking. Saw is used every day and have changed the blade 50+ times. I don’t cart it around to job sites….often so that probably helps.

Really a great saw. I replaced my Rigid compound sliding miter saw with this one. Light-years better! Only issue I have is clearance for cutting larger pieces like 4x4 and 4x6 lumber is really tight. It doesn't complete the cut. You have to flip it to get bottom furthest corner cut. Debating on adjusting fences to see if that's the issue. Other than that. It's very accurate and a very powerful saw. I've run Dewalt, Bosch and Rigid sliding miter saws. This one is definitely the most accurate and smooth cutting saw.

I bought this last month as a contractor coming from “Hitachi”. After using this “Jet” saw, I noticed an extremely tight balance on the saw while cutting. This was extremely important as I was using the laser during the day and needed precise cuts. Razor sharp!

I usually don’t write reviews but as a jet tools fan I was embarrassed by the quality, especially for the price. First off it’s made in china, which doesn’t always mean it’s bad quality but just a heads up. The paint was chipped and smeared, the knobs and buttons were crooked and some were deformed, the plastic looked extremely cheap. I squared everything and dialed it in and it wouldn’t make a consistent cut it had way to much play. To top it off it looks like a repainted $300 craftsman with jet stickers put on it. The $350 Hercules from harbor freight is better quality than this saw. I returned it and bought a Bosch.

I can’t give it a good rating because mine came defective. It had a bent pin causing it not to open the saw. It was a hassle repackaging to send back for a refund. My experience sucked. I bought a Metabo sliding which i love!
