Not made of silicone, but still very soft, pliable, and durable. I believe it's made of PVC and very similar to what Aquarium Co-Op sells. It's where I normally purchase my fish room needs, but I needed this tubing ASAP. It's matte black, dry with no coating, and does not smell of any odor. I've used it on stainless steel and plastic fittings with no issues of slippage. I've had that problem with stiffer tubing but solved it by using sandpaper on the ends of the fittings. I've also slipped it onto fittings larger than 3/16" by simply dipping the tubbing end into some very hot water for 20 seconds or so, making it stretch onto larger fittings. This is a great addition to my fish room and I'm sure you'll be satisfied with this product unless you prefer the old-school thicker and stiffer type of tubing.

I used this for air supply to my DWC systems. Worked great and have lots to move around if I need to later in the season.Soft and flexible hosing.

Using it for a RDWC setup should work well. Not sure if it will kink yet being so flexible. It also has an atrocious licorice smell. The smell sticks to your skin and anything it touches. Going to wash it before use.

Purchased to replace airlines on my 3 aquariums. All have darker backgrounds so wanted a quality black tubing. Stays soft and flexible in the aquarium. All of the airstones, connectors, valves, and suction cups help make a clean install of the airlines in the tank. I almost cant see any of it when installed on a black background.

I've purchased many different types of airline tubing just to be disappointed by the kinked factory packaging. This stuff is perfect.

Don't trust this product. The airline doesn't stay attached to fittings. It's dangerous if airline becomes separate from the check valve on the side connected to the air stone. It will lead to a siphon and drain water on the floor. Even after I fixed by buying check valves with a barb, the airline continued to detach at the air pump. The airline just doesn't stay on. I replaced all the airline with a product from a different manufacturer.

It works the way i want it to. It seems to be made of top-quality material that will last. More flexible than the clear tubing but it doesn’t hinder its performance in anyway that I can see.
