IMPORTANT NOTE / reminder (that I personally failed at):As with every item that you can customize to fit your needs, be patient and experiment with all the different ways these can be adjusted BEFORE you rush to use them in your shoes.If you think a part of the item doesn’t work, slow down and take the time to adjust and experiment to see if it’s really broken or if you’re just rushing too fast.(This applies to ANY item that you can customize! )In my case, I (very) quickly read the instructions and then jammed these into my shoe.I tried turning this and pulling that, blindly, with no patience.I was frustrated and convinced these didn’t work and that they were broken, but then my husband patiently experimented with the basics of how they worked and how all the extra adjustable options worked. After doing this, we found that these worked like a charm!I think many buyers (like myself) don’t take the time to practice the instructions and experiment with the options before they become convinced these don’t work. I know because I was this way!Now for the review of this set of shoe stretchers.These are very impressive and they’re made with quality materials. (Test each black button to see how it fits in every hole in the wood. You may need to widen the hole in the wood so the black button fits in it. Use a screwdriver or another tool to gently widen the hole in the wood. DO NOT force a black button into the wood if it doesn’t slide in the hole correctly.)They’re very versatile so you can customize the stretching shape to your needs.You get a set of 2 stretchers, not just one (read the details of a listing carefully because many other companies only offer one shoe stretcher, not a pair).These come with many extra black shaping buttons (is this the correct term?), a high-quality metal shoe horn (which is very long so you don’t have to bend down to use it), and a fabric pouch to store everything in (although the box they come in is so nice and firm that I store my set in the box). They have hooks at the end so you can easily store them in a hanging position.There are many ways to customize these to the shape your shoes the perfect way.Alternatively, you can easily adjust these as a way of maintaining the shape of your shoes (instead of stretching them).Either way that you use them, they work great!The price-point of this set is so nice that these make great gifts too.Be sure to buy the right size stretcher.Since these work like a claw to open and close (and they can adjust to lengthen the shoe if you need that option), don’t automatically buy the bigger size of these thinking that’s the solution needed in order to stretch your shoe. These can widen and/or lengthen your shoes, but you need to buy the correct size, which is your current normal size shoe. I hope this makes sense.

These are good for home use the adjust a pair of shoes. Plastic nuts I like the wood but I worry it will split, Just don't put to tight.

I like the fact that once I inserted and stretched out my suede ankle boots they stayed stretched out. When I used the shoe stretcher for my leather ankle boots, I have to use the multiple times. Over all, I love these shoe stretchers because they’ll save me money in the long run due to the fact that I don’t have to take my shoes to the shoe repair just to get them stretched out, I can do it myself at home.

These are great as far as the wood goes. I would like it to be a little more adjustable to stretch the top of shoe instead of just the width. Works great on leather. Not so great on my Nike tennis shoes that I washed and wanted to stretch. Easy to adjust and insert.

Well built modern version of my 'antique' shoe stretchers that I got from my father (and he from his) barely were doing anything for my 9.5s. As I wear 9.5-10 and need to stretch toe box a little, these are a definite improvement.

These are well made and are great for stretching shoes that are a smidgen too tight without you having to suffer for months to make them fit. This is the second set I’ve bought as I lent the fitst set to someone who didn’t return it and I missed it. Not cheap but do the job very well.
