We used the older model for years as our favorite almost-indestructible tape (the brands sold in the big box stores couldn't hold a candle for ease of use and longevity). However, this model comes very close, and considering its durability so far is a great bargain.

This isn’t the worst tape i have ever had, but the tape is not as thick as others i have had in the past. As a result it twists in the real very easily. If your not careful about the tension on the tape when you let it out it will sort of jump the reel and cause problems...usually leads to a twist and having to unsnag it.The concept of the stake is good, but the implementation is awful. I metal tent peg does far better...it can also be stored opposite the real side so it doesn’t get in the way - like the plastic stake did.Lastly, the hook does not hold as well as other tapes i have had,,,now this tape has not cut me like others but i find myself spending a great deal more time when i am trying to deploy the tape...worried about book coming loose, tape jumping off the real, etc. i didn’t know when i bought this but i think other tapes i have had were 5/8†and this one is a 1/2â€. If i didn’t use a laser so much now, i would probably have given this 1 or 2 stars, but’s it’s hard to get annoyed with a tool used infrequently.
