I had these for several years, but they broke in a hard freeze. Good quality glass and very durable paint which marks volumetric delineation. Rain gauges work in 1/10" not 1/8" - rainfall is measured, documented and communicated in 1/10's as these are. Glass can be more fragile then plastic but it does not cloud or fade. I failed to empty the gauges and a hard freeze broke out the bottoms. These are great quality and I ordered 2 more. It would be nicer if they were a graduated cylinder or conical ( a section of a cone) so expanding ice could "grow" upward to relieve pressure (as old school ice cube treys) but after an extensive search these are still the best option I found. I LOVE birds so I loved the added feature of the bird on top of the gauge. The holder itself is unique but sturdy and very easy to use. The glass container seems well made and is very easy to read. I used it last summer and am looking forward to using it again this summer. I live in a climate that has freezing temps in the winter so it does need to be brought in during the winter.

This rain gauge is short in height, but that's OK for me. I have it in a potted plant near my door so I can see at a glance that there's rain in it. I like that the vessel itself is glass so I can keep it clean and it won't fade or discolor like a plastic tube would. Overall I am very satisfied with this product.

A deep freeze this winter broke the glass tube on our rain gage. We were worried this replacement glass wouldn’t fit, but it does. Now we know to take it in when there’s sub-freezing weather! Comes in a box of two.

When my beautiful mermaid rain gauge was left out, frozen, and was subsequently cracked, I worried about finding a replacement glass. Fortunately, JOYBee sells replacement parts, unlike some manufacturers who do not, leaving customers frustrated with incomplete/broken items. The two glass beakers were well-packaged, arrived safely and quickly. I love my mermaid rain gauge and am happy she will occupy a space in my garden next summer, complete with her glass beaker. BTW, this came in a 2-pack -- just in case...

Works and looks good, (its a rain guage). solar lights (2) top and bottom of guage stay on till at least (3-4am). Easily move the guage to different locations if desired.
