Bought this as a cool educational toy for my kids, and they loved it. Their reaction to watching it "defy gravity" the first few times was well worth the price! The toy itself is very well made. Specifically, the gyro is very well balanced and has fairly low friction on the axles, allowing it to spin for a surprisingly long time. The plastic stand is also weighted and has a rubberized base, so it doesn't shift around too much due to the gyro's precession. The cage is also well made and has no open gaps or weak solder/weld points, like the cheaper gyros seem to. The whole thing felt solid, hefty, and relatively durable. The gyro & components came in a cylindrical tin storage box, which included the gyro, stand, two pull strings, and instructions. The only part I didn't care for were the instructions, which are a perfect example of why you shouldn't use Google translate to write an essay.

This gyroscope is the first one that I have ever gotten and I think it's easy to use and functions the way it should. After some practice I managed to wind it up easily and spin it without a problem. I've had it for about two months now and I have been spinning it multiple times a day. After all of that, it still works just as fine as it did the day I got it.The product comes with two strings and a ball for better grip when pulling it to spin (I soon took it off since I found that easier for me). Since I spun it so much the string soon became frayed and it was hard to insert the string through the hole on the axle. How I fixed this was by simply cutting the end that was frayed and taking a lighter and waving the flame over it just a little bit to melt the tip. This worked out perfectly so it definitely will last for quite some time (if the newly formed end would is too big to fit through the hole, I would use a nail file or something to sand it down until it could fit). There once was an incident where it was dropped from a table and landed on concrete and the disk popped out of it's frame. Fortunately, after some effort I managed to pop the disk back into it's frame, good as new. It did, however, take a bit of force to pop it back in. I was afraid of breaking the frame since I was pushing so hard but it held up just fine. The only problem that I came across (not associated with it being dropped) is whenever I spun it it would sometimes make a loud vibrating sound. This usually would happen if I stood it up perpendicular to the floor while it spun. However, after a quick readjustment the vibration stops (the vibration noise doesn't affect the spin function).Overall, I love this toy and it's very fun and easy to use! The tricks you can do with it will always amaze me and it's a fun little introduction to torque and precession for those curious minds out there.

Everything in the picture is in motion.Bought some trinkets to entertain my 3 year old nephew when I visit. All where made in China which is a negative for me but they all do as advertised and are made well enough they will last many years. The round bottom top takes some room for it to do it’s thing, it tends to travel some before flipping over. Right out of the box it performed well, a little snap motion and it spins till the stem rotates to the bottom and it makes a little bell noise before jumping up on its stem. Once there I normally get 30 to 60 seconds before it falls over. Which is fine considering the energy lost standing up on its stem. For example the other top in the picture, my record is 4 min 20 seconds, normally I get 3 mins 40 seconds. 3rd item is a metal rattle back which only spins one direction.I’ll admit I haven’t even showed the trinkets to the nephew and I have enjoyed them lol.

Educational toy for my grandson. He has an interest is tops and other spinning toys such as BayBlade. This item is well made reminds me of one I had when I was a young boy. I’m 70 now and this item has the same or better quality as the one I had 60 years ago. We hade fun and my grandson and his dad did as well. The string did fray often replaced it with so braided fishing line which works well.

TLDR; DO NOT BUY THIS GYROSCOPE! Spend a few extra dollars to get a higher quality one, don't make the same mistake I did.Straight out of the box it clearly has a very loose tolerance and no quality assurance. It looks nice but the centerpiece has play in every direction and isn't properly balanced. Once you let it rip it vibrates violently and loudly which means it looses its momentum way faster than it should and is harder to balance to do tricks.I have a bachelors in physics and have taught the science behind this a few times (meaning I have gotten my hands on a handful of different versions of these). With that being said if you want to get the full experience you really need to find a half decent one of these and this one just isn't it.

This little spinner is a great buy. Although very inexpensive, it is very well made. The brass rim and the silicon nitride bead on the bottom are features found on considerably more costly spinners. I’ve had this spinner just 4 days and have already gotten a spin time of 3 minutes and 15 seconds on a carefully leveled iPad. I’ve already ordered a concave glass lens for more convenient attempts at longer spin times. Basically, i have absolutely no complaints about my purchase. No, I recommend this little guy as a fine way to get addicted to the world of spinning! UPDATE: Well, with an inexpensive magnifying mirror used for makeup and eyebrow-plucking duties, i have now hit the 5 minute mark on spin time. It is truly bizarre — and great — that such a little chunk of pretty metal can become so obsessively time-consuming! I am a 72 year-old unstable former genius who loves his spinner — and the others which will follow!

My daugter enjoyed playing with it but since the barings are not that good the spin slows down must faster than it should which detracts from the gyro experience. The one I had when I was a kid span for much longer...

I love this little spinning top, great colours, it feels solid and spins for ages. I bought a couple as gifts but kept one for myself!
