Needed to do some re-wiring under the hood of my 47 year old truck. Specifically, much of the wiring for the ignition system had deteriorated due to heat and age. Not only was the wiring falling apart, but some of the old plastic connectors had turned to potato chips and pretty much crumbled as soon as I touched them. Not cool.I really didn't want to spend this much on the project- especially when you can get a bulk box of the old spade style male/female connectors for dirt cheap... but I've had this truck for nearly 20 years and it doesn't ask much of me, so I figured if I was gonna do it, I'd do it right.Had to teach myself how to use these Deutsch style connectors via YouTube videos, but I got the job done. Re-wired the ignition switch, the coil, and the distributor with these. It was actually sort of fun. And the end result was not only flawless, but a boost and increased consistency in overall voltage.Ya, it costs a lot, but for value in peace of mind and solid, weatherproof connections, these Deutsch connectors can't be beat.

The #12 DTP style Female contacts do not slide into the adjuster collet like the #12 Male contacts do. Each time you change crimping between male and female #12 contacts you'll need to readjust the adjustment screw. However, this is a great tool for DT and DTM contacts. Just challenging for DTP contacts.I reached out to JR Ready and they did make it right, so I applaud their customer service department. If you do buy this one, know that DTP #12 will be a different process than the other contacts. From JR Ready: "Hello,Thank you for the pictures and information.I have confirmed with our technical department. This is normal. Not a quliaty problem. If you want more convenient way for crimping, you can order our turret style crimp tool. Then you don't need to adjust the positioner screw every time."

Like many others, I was very unsure about spending $300 on a plug kit. Especially since half of that cost is for a crimping tool. HOWEVER, it’s worth it. Zero regrets. The tool gives you perfect and repeatable crimps every time. The plugs couldn’t be easier to assemble and they appear to be good quality!

cant stand spade type connectors for permanent installations that require disconnecting from time to time. these fill the bill. its not mil spec stuff good, but worth the effort and extra $ to terminate properly. my go to from now on.

For the price and the amount you get, this is the best connectors I’ve bought. They are water tight, have a positive connection, easy to install, and best of all is they have the factory look. The only down side is they don’t offer the push through clips that attach to the connector to keep the connector from moving around. You’ll have to go to wire care.com for that which gets kinda expensive. Not necessary, unless you’re picky like me.

I added this tool in my cart and then removed it and debated getting it multiple times. I finally decided to get it and I wish I would’ve gotten it sooner. I only wore as a hobby when working on my prerunner or sxs. Or helping friends wire stuff. This is a game changer for sure. I recommend this to anyone who does wiring regularly or even every so often as a hobby.

5 stars for the tool. The connectors are probably fine, but I just don't trust them personally. No rhyme or reason to it, just a gut feeling. Yes, I know it's stupid. The crimpers, however, are fantastic. Very smooth action and a solid crimp.
