We purchased this game before the holidays and it has quickly become one of our favorite party games! It has a similar vibe to Blank Slate, which we also own, but I much prefer this one. Rather than trying to match one other person, and only one other person, you want your answer to be unique. However, you also don't want it so unique as to throw off the person guessing the answer. This leads to a lot of "ah ha!" moments when everyone has creative clues, as well as "oh man!" when two or more clues match up and are eliminated and the guesser is left trying to get "Sunrise" when their only clue is "Rooster".The Good: The component quality of this game is fine. The cards are pretty standard for this type of game - not super heavy duty, but not really necessary for a game where you pull from a box. Each player (up to the included number) get their own dry erase easel and marker. Each marker is a different color & has an attached eraser which is pretty cool. Everything fits easily back in the box with very little wasted space. The game takes no time to setup, is super easy to teach, and is always a good time. The Bad: Some people have had issues with a marker or two being dead on arrival. We did not have that problem, but you can easily replace them with any dry erase markers of equal size if you want them to fit in the box.The Indifferent: The goal of the game is to get enough correct answers, as a team, to beat scores listed in the instructions. You can play by the rules with scoring, or simply go around and around for the fun & laughs of it. There isn't any strategy beyond the clue selection since you have no control over what everyone else around the table will do. For me, this game is all about the laughs, and we often throw scoring out the window.

Many games suffer from a challenge of either being too complicated for guests / family of varying ages and "game interest" or being too lame to hold the attention of serious gamers. Or they need a specified number of players but not too many. If you want to keep a game on hand that you can pull out for just about any occasion or age range, Just One is, well, just that one game!I first played Just One at an outdoor gathering around a bonfire with a large crowd of mostly "mature" adults - it was a hoot. I've played it since in groups ranging from 4 to 10 people, with ages ranging from preteen to retirees, it has really held the interest of all.4 is about the smallest group that can reasonably play. There is one "guesser" each round and the rest of the group writes down a single word (just one word, get it?) to hopefully convey the Guess Word. And of course the Guesser has "just one" guess. The catch is that if you write the same word as someone else, you both erase your word. So you want to be obvious, but not too obvious that others would write down the same thing. One of the most enjoyable elements of the game is seeing the word associations others come up with. And seeing the guesser connect the dots. For example, say the Guess Word is "fire" and you're playing with 5 people. Two players write "smoke" and cancel each other out. The remaining players have "hot" and "employee". MAYBE the guesser will guess "fire" but they might guess "boss" or something on a completely different train of thought. All said, this is a fun game to have on hand, especially for groups larger than 4.

Purchased for a game night, NYE party. So happy I did. It is easy to learn and fun to play, for all ages. My 10 year old niece liked it too! Definitely recommend for some fun play and good laughs! It's fun waiting to see how creative people get with their clues. The included markers are bright and colorful. The attached eraser on the cap makes game play quick and easy. There are 5 words on each card and a TON of cards. You won't have to repeat words for a long time. Great purchase. Just buy it! 😀

Have played one set of this and all five players really enjoyed it. Fairly simple, and we ended with nine successful answers (maximum of 13, but guessing wrong removes a second card).Guesser picks a card, then without looking at the card, selects a line number. That has a single word. Each other player has a white board and writes a single word on it, without checking with others. With the guesser hiding his eyes, the clue givers check their answers. Any duplicates are erased or hidden, then the guesser sees the various clues. If they guess right, the card is a success. Guess wrong, lose that card and a second, or they can skip guessing. One word we did: bowling. One clue of strike, three of us put "Alley". So our guesser only had strike to go on. As I said, most of the time we succeeded but it is a challenge to put as obvious a word that you don't think anyone else will use!Very fun and all five of us are ready to try again! We played with 17+ age people, but the game is recommended for 8+ and I'd think 8 year old and above could handle and enjoy the game. (That's the manufacturer's recommended age.)

The Number is easy to learn and play. It's a short enough game that it can be played while waiting for food at a restaurant and doesn't take up much room on the table. The dry erase boards are a nice size and have nice weight to them. The only downside is that you need a minimum of 3 people to play and we're a primarily two person game household, but it's good for when getting together with family.

This board game is a lot of fun and really brings out everyone’s creativity to not have the same word written down. We tried playing this with 16 people and it worked, we just gave everyone else a piece of paper to write their words on. I recommend this game for a large group!

The box art is different from the common Just One so was not sure if this is the authentic version given it's 15% cheaper than other Just One listings on Amazon. Seems authentic and pieces are good quality (I mean there's not much to this game). So go with the cheaper listing to save a few dollars.

We were looking for a party game that was easy to understand, quick to play and could handle a larger number of people. This one ticked all those boxes and more. It is a fun game that suits a broad range of ages. Best of all, it is a team game. The concept is simple - write a one word clue to help your teammate guess the hidden word - but the execution is excellent. If you write the same word clue as any other player, your clues deleted. So you have to think widely and often laterally to help the person guessing the correct answer. Highly recommended.
