I bought this to fix our shredded cat scratching post. The rope is sturdy and has been holding up really, even with heavy use. It is also cheaper than rope that is marketed towards scratch posts.

High quality jute rope. This is good quality 1/4 inch 4 strand hemp rope (jute). It doesn't smell at all. Some ropes do smell. I bought this for camping excursions. Some of it I will boil in bees wax to be used as campfire starting aids. Using a Ferro rod to start the wax soaked jute, works great.

When this rope arrived I wasn't sure I would be able to handle it because is vert thick. I wanted to create a squirrel bridge from the fence to the tree where the squirrel house is so the squirrels can go to their house with out going down to the ground where the dogs might get them. I ended up looping this wonderful rope around the tree and fastening it to itself with wire and covering the wire with jute string. I did the same with a loop around the fence post. The natural color of the rope blends into the setting and looks nice. Now I get to watch my cute squirrel buddies get their nuts and go back and forth across the rope bridge to their house in safety! This rope ended up being easy to work with and also thick enough for the squirrels to walk on.

Very durable rope did a nice job covering up the torn up cat posts unfortunately it has a very strong odor to it would recommend you air it outside for at least a week before using it

The jute rope is great in making Wooden furniture, flashing, and other projects for Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. Very handy for lashing.

This rope disintegrates quickly outdoors I hung some crafts using this rope and it rotted and fell down

I needed to get some rope to modify my dog's Kong as he loves to chew on the rope that I use to fling it high into the air. (He loves that). But I digress. The rope is surprisingly soft considering how "raw" the fiber is. It seems like it's just been mechanically processed which is a good thing for what I'm concerned with. It's also incredibly strong!
