What a hit! Bought for our soon to be 8 year old grandson. About 3 hrs after we left we got a picture of him with his ferris wheel. He is exceptionally bright, according to his school, and his father is an engineer. It might be better for a 9 ir 10 year old, esp if no parents or older siblings will help. It would take me a week IF I was able to complete it at all!The package was on our porch with just a label on the box. No additional packing or box from Amazon. There wasn't scratch or tear on anything, unlike what people said in other reviews. Grandson was excited and happy to receive

my 9 year old son LOVED this. BUT the instructions only come with the one set of instructions so you need to dig to find the other 2 sets. I wish I could recall where I got them from so I could post the link!!

My 8 year old daughter asked for Knex for her birthday after playing with a set at school. We wanted a set with a lot of pieces but also an array of different sizes and this one was a hit! You get a ton of pieces for the cost and all 4 (ages 6-16) of my kids have had fun playing with it. The motor works well and the size of the built Ferris wheel is quite big!
