This thermostatic switch solved a years-old problem with our garage fridge. Now the temperature remains stable despite the garage temperature. Rather than trying to control the fridge, I control a light bulb in a porcelain socket that is on the bottom glass shelf of the fridge. The light bulb is an incandescent type so it emits heat as well as light. Being on the bottom shelf, the warmed air rises and shuts down the thermostat of the fridge. I keep the temperature between 34 & 37.5 and it works great, keeping the temperature around 36.

I use this for turning on a heat lamp for outdoor chicken coop when temperatures are below freezing. This cost about the same as simple bimetal switches with the added benefit of being able to program on / off setpoints. Instructions were a bit difficult to read, probably due to translation. However the controls are rather intuitive, so I was able to figure it out quickly on my own.
