This is actually my 2nd Kailas harness and I picked this XS harness up for my midleschooler that has started wanting to get into rock climbing. It fits a 12yr old great and he says it's much more comfortable than the smaller youth-sized harnesses we used to have him in when he was younger. The design is very similar to my Edelrid and I'm happy with the functionality and quality of the harness. I think it will far outlast him since he's growing like a weed.

Whenever we would go climbing in the past they would have to take turns being in the harness. This would solve that issue.My Thoughts When comparing this harness to a Black Diamond Momentum harness: I would say that this harness is built like a tank. and has the comfort of one too. it has a lot of adjustment points and each of them are heavy duty steel buckles (which is good and bad). I like how they are beyond safe, however they sacrifice a bit of comfort. The padding is a bit thinner and not as wide so it doesn’t spread out the body weight as comfortably. The adjustment buckles are not completely shielded from the body by the padding. The buckles can rub against clothing/skin.Concerns: the tags state it has a lifetime warranty then inside the booklet it states its a 3-year warranty.Bottom Line: I think that for being priced within a dollar of major brands, i would opt for the major brands.

My kid is 5 years old wears 5T clothes this fit well and in our initial testing held her weight well and distributed her weight well.My kid is pretty skinny and this harness was able to fit her appropriately. It has a pretty good range for adjustments on both the leg and waist straps. It also has pretty good mechanisms for keeping the tails of the straps out of the way.Very solid harness!

I got this for my kids to share. It fits both of them without issue.The construction is meticulous and thoughtful. Climbing gear needs to evoke confidence, this harness does it easily.So happy to have it to keep the little ones safe as they explore the world.

This worked perfectly for my son and is made of good sturdy material that he said was comfortable to wear. He had no problems when he went indoor rock climbing. I highly recommend this

There is nothing glaringly wrong with this harness, it meets the minimum, and I think it is fine for the 99 lb and smaller people. But this is the bare minimum for safety. The main padded waist part and the leg holsters and the connection seem to be of good strength. There is a double ply belay loop between the leg section, and the waist belt. Although it is probably adequate, I would suggest using a good carabiner in addition in this area, see photo. The straps that connect the back of the leg loops to the back of the waist belt are just thin elastic, of course these don't function for strength. The metal cinch buckles are not against full padding, so it is possible they could dig into the body in certain positions.

The stitching appears to be very well done and it has enough padding to be comfortable. It is a VERY bright green, which I like as it's easier to pick out your child at the climbing gym. Adjusts easily and fits well. My kid loves it!
