I bought this to put on my Fender Acoustasonic, which is basically a thin acoustic that needs a pickguard but doesn't come with one. The item shipped to me in a slightly padded envelope, and because of the type of plastic it arrived with a few little dents/imperfections from shipping. I cut it with a pair of very sharp scissors because a dremel would have torn this to bits. As soon as I got it installed I realized there was a big chunk out of the plastic and realized it might have come from my fingernail. So I tried scratching a fingernail across it and it completely tore into the plastic without any real pressure at all. What kind of "pickguard" can't handle something like a fingernail without being destroyed? So I hurried and pulled it off my guitar, which came off just fine. I'm sure there are uses for this type of, but a pickguard for sure ain't one of them. I very much doubt 3M designed this for being used as a pickguard. Seems like this company just slapped a pickguard name and package on it so they could upcharge you. I have since ordered and installed an actual pickguard material pickguard.

I never leave poor reviews but this thing ruined my American Pro II Telecaster!I am livid that they would allow this to be sold without any warning of ruining the finish. DON'T BUY THIS IF YOU VALUE YOUR GUITAR!

I used it as both a headstock veneer and a 4th layer veneer on a pickguard... worked perfectly for both!
