Steps

  1. Put the glass bottle (better wine bottle or beer bottle) on the support to confirm where you want to cut
  2. Install the fixing baffle and the screw to the suitable position. Adjust the wheels. Wear gloves. And align bottle to the cutting knife
  3. Push and rotate the bottle with balanced force with all your hands
  4. Put 2 rubber ring on both sides of the cutting line on the bottle (The optimal distance between the two rubber rings is less than 1CM)
  5. Rinse alternately with boiling water and cold water(each time for more than 40 seconds) to the cutting line between the 2 rubber rings, until the bottle separates (If the bottle doesn’t separate, please repeat the 5th step. NOTE: please use enough hot water, preferably boiling water).
  6. Rubbing the cutting surface with sanding paper.

Tips:

  1. Make sure that both hands rotate the bottle at the same time to get a flat line while cutting and not letting the boiling water overflow between the two rubbers band while pouring(The optimal distance between the two rubber rings is less than 1CM) Otherwise the edge of the bottle may not be so flat
  2. Please clean up the residual label before cutting the bottle (the glue on the label will shorten the life of the cutter head).
  3. In order to protect the cutting blade, you can use the cutter oil regularly after a long time of use

I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but.... there was a very sharp edge on the bottom of each end of the base plate. See the arrow in the attached pic? That arrow is pointing to the bottom edge that is very sharp!! I was not expecting that sharp edge and actually sliced off a good chunk of skin from one of my fingers. Do any of you have any idea how hard it is to apply a band-aid to a wound that is gushing blood??? Literally! Gushing blood!!!! Probably sliced off a good 1/4" squared chunk of skin. Clean as a meat slicer, too!I'd post a pick but I'm afraid some of you might toss your cookies! I won't be responsible for that and it's no fun cleaning tossed cookies off a keyboard.Careful when you take it out of the box and immediately file that bad boy down or you'll slice your finger off!Other than that, the cutter works pretty good. When using this bottle cutter, do NOT apply a lot of pressure. Push just hard enough to hear a crunching noise as you rotate the bottle. The score line does not need to be deep, it just needs to be there.I wear a glove on my left hand to keep steading downward pressure on the bottle as I grab the bottleby the neck and rotate with my right hand.DO NOT go back over any area that you think might need to be scored better. It may leave chips and will more than likely cause the break to veer off the score line.As I said before, the score line does not need to be deep, it just needs to be there. And that's all I have to say about that! Happy bottle cutting people!!!

I purchased this after doing a lot of research on glass cutters. I found the reviews to be true -- it is a good quality product, easy to use, easy to set up and true to its word. I am completely new to glass cutting and am so excited that our first bottle cut easily and on the first try. We did repeat hot water/cold water process, but then it came apart easily the second time. I think we just needed to apply the hot water for a longer period of time.My only question would be that I'm not 100% sure what the gold tool that looks like an Exacto knife is for. I'm guessing to etch on the glass? Regardless -- this is worth the money and I would recommend. Cheers.

Glass bottle cutter received and is as described, I watched a few videos and read many reviews and decided on this product and was NOT disappointed. My first try and it scored the bottle and then used boiling water, cold water and then boiling water and the bottle separated on it's own. The only thing I believe i will change is to score it only once around, I did it twice and the top of the cut was not 100% smooth. It wasn't bad but not perfect. I recommend score once around while maintaining strong pressure on the bottle. I am looking forward to trying some more and know I can only improve on the technique with experience. The sand paper provided helped to smooth the cut.

It works on my grey goose bottles with ease. Just make certain you only score it once. Do not go past the original spot or it leaves uneven edges. The entire thing is a bit flimsy but surprisingly it worked very well for the price. Definitely would buy again.

Was trying to convert wine bottles into glasses or planters. This thing's cutter doesn't score well. When it does, it doesn't score evenly. The piece on the back used to hold the bottle in place is so wobbly that the score lines are all over the place, causing the break to be horrible and a waste of a bottle. Out of 7 or 8 wine bottles, ONE was sufficiently cut to function as a glass. I bought this several months ago but didn't break it out of the box till a few days ago so of course I'm past my return window. :( With as many options as are out there for glass cutters, I'm not sure how you know what to choose. They all look very similar. I just know this one is one to pass up unless I just got a bad one.I even went so far as to disassemble the scoring blade location and test fit it to my bottles several times. I also adjusted the scoring blade for each bottle but it was super inconsistent. Manufacturer, if you are seeing this, send me one that works and my rating will obviously change. As it is, I can't begin to recommend this item. :(

Good quality and performs as advertised on Amazon. Used it to cut few bottles and it was seamless. The settings are easy, process is simple, just need to figure the right amount if pressure to put while rotating the bottle. Can accommodate most of the sizes of bottles. To be frank, the cutting of bottles by this instrument is simple and works as promised. The breaking of the bottle after the cutting is the challenging part. To that part, this tool is excellent ! A mix of good accessories in the box

I've never cut a glass bottle in my life. Frankly for the low price of this kit I was skeptical that it would work. I was wrong. It is so easy. In fact I never even got to pour the cold water on because the bottle separated from just pouring the hot water on. The cut was clean and even. The sandpaper supplied took care of the rough or sharp edges and it was absolutely perfect. The second bottle I cut was cheap and the glass was thicker in some places than others but this system worked perfectly anyway. For what I paid ($29) I can't say enough good things about this. And it included a hand held glass cutter, spare cutter head, gloves and rubber rings. Very impressed for the price. If you want to cut some bottles but don't want to spend a ton of money get this. It's well worth the $29. I'd buy it again and recommend it to anyone else.

Buen kit. Trae lo necesario. Adicional se requiere usar agua hirviendo y fría en el proceso. Hacerlo con paciencia y las botellas cortan bien.
