I used these while restoring wooden window sashes for my home. During the process of disassembling them I damaged things enough to require structural repairs, so applied epoxy to all the holes I'd gouged out. I was dreading having to reshape things to fit the mortise and tenon joints back together because the mortises are so small inside-- it's hard to find files that will fit into them and the only ones that do are very fine. Removing all of that hardened epoxy was going to take days.I decided to give them a try based on the price point and the good reviews. They worked great! They are small, stiff, easy to hold, and remove material quickly. Fitting each joint only took a few minutes.

Used it to create shapes on a soft wood. It is a rasp, not a file. Good for rough finish shaping but will require follow-up with sandpaper or file to create perfectly smooth surface.

These files are much smaller than I was expecting, but they still work really well for removing burrs when sharpening an axe or machete.

These files/rasps are so course, they are unusable in wood. Too bad because they are the right size just way way to aggressive.
