So, to be honest, I didn’t even really know what a finger piano was. My husband asked me to get it for him so I did.Once we got it and opened it, I was stuck on it! It’s so pretty sounding. It reminds me of like the flute thing that puts the 3 headed dog to sleep in Harry Potter! My husband said it reminds him of video game music. It came with a little booklet that I didn’t read (lol) but it seems to have some good information. It has some scales to practice. I scanned through it looking for something. It came with this metal hammer looking thing, and I have no idea what it is. And I couldn’t find it in the book either. So I’m not really sure.Anyways. The wood is really quality feeling. It has the iridescent inlay like on a guitar. It feels really solid to me. Not that I have anything to compare it to. But it seems really nice. Also, it’s similar to steel drums how they are made in certain keys (idk if I’m describing that correctly) but basically, you can’t hit any wrong notes. All the notes go together so you don’t really have to have any skill to make pretty sounding melody’s.I personally love it. It sounds really calming and relaxing and you can just kinda sit there mindlessly making lovely music.

I used to play the piano. Not very well, I am not dedicated enough to practice. Or serious enough to have a piano taking up space in my house. But I miss plinking a bit now and then, and Garage Band on my iPad is not the same as an instrument you can feel. So when I saw this kalimba, I was drawn to it. I had never seen one before. When it arrived, my husband said “Oh! A kalimba!†His kids had them, thirty years ago. He says the ones the kids had were lousy tinny things. We were both impressed with the rich, full sound out of this one.It came with a nice protective case, a hammer for tuning it, and a little booklet with some instructions for playing basic things. Looks more like guitar music than piano, so it will be a learning curve for me. I only wish to someday be as proficient as the person shown in the video on this Amazon listing. Honestly I am unlikely to practice enough. But it will be fun to plink!

Let's start with the positives:Attractive finishGood tone, aside from a really fast decay on the four highest notes (which is common)Easy playabilityComes with a small manual that is a lot more helpful and informative than I was expecting, a tuning hammer, and a hard case.Toss-up: also comes with a small metal chain. If you've ever used a cymbal that had a sizzler chain, you've got some idea of what it sounds like. It's not particularly useful in the higher register, but it does add an unusual resonance to the lower, more-sustained notes.Negative: The tines are blank, and come with stickers that have note values/numbers. As much as I dislike numbers instead of note names engraved on them, I really loathe stickers. Also, the cleaning cloth was missing (not a huge deal, 'cause I'm pretty much up to my eyeballs in microfiber cleaning cloths).Huh?: Comes with a tassel. Which is nice, I guess, but... really? So aside from the tassel, which doesn't add anything to either the sound or the appearance, the chain (which the jury's still out on, in my humble opinion), a missing cleaning cloth, and the stickers, it's a good value for the money and perfectly good to start with.

I received the Kalimba 17 keys Thumb Piano Mbira Finger Piano Gift for Kids Adult Beginners Professional.I have a few different Kalimbas that I enjoy playing. I am not particularly musically talented, nor can I even read music! But I love listening to music really enjoy how easy these are to just play by ear. The sound is very soothing and I play the Kalimbas to relaxThis particular Kalimba sounds especially nice. It just has a very pleasant tone to it.The case and accessories are great too. Mine had it's cleaning cloth missing. I do have microfiber cleaning cloths for other things so I put on of them in the case with the Kalimba. It is very important to wipe the carbon steel tines every time you finish using the instrument so the oils from your fingers do not corrode the carbon metal.I am very happy with this Kalimba and feel it is worth the $40 price. It is not a cheapo one, it is quite nice!

Came with 16 of 17 keys in perfect tune! I think c6 (maybe a5) was the only key out of tune. Easy fix and back up and running out of the box! This Kalimba goes from a4 to g5 with c, d, e 6 (17 keys). There are "wah" holes in the bottom/back of the Kalimba. It's smaller than I had expected, 12oz can added for perspective. It seems to be solid wood, or very dense plywood with nice veneer. I keep it on a coffee table for plucking out a quick tune, conversation piece, and it looks nice!Came with a nice carrying case, stickers for your keys, tassels, and a tuning hammer. It didn't have the cleaning cloth however.

I got this for a friend of mine that’s a musician. He really likes it and says the notes are perfect on it. It’s built very very well with great materials with a beautiful carry-on case, which makes it very easy to bring with you wherever you go.

The sound is very nice, and it arrived in tune. The hard case is excellent, and the instument is very secure in it. The wood is beautiful, and this would make a lovely gift. This comes with everything needed to get started playing.
