In the past i have always used the Velcro wraps and for the most part they worked but i still had issues with the lure banging against the rod blank and sliding up and down the rod. These bait capsules keep the lure and hooks off the blank. it has a plastic hook to secure to the reel. The hook is just big enough to slip over a 3000 series spinning reel stem. Some of the larger reels you may not be able to secure it to them. Baitcasters should be fine. I was a little skeptical about the hinges but they are designed with a plastic hinge pin instead of just a flexed piece of plastic so they should hold up pretty well. The Large capsule works well for the 110 style Jerkbaits and most under 10' diving crankbaits. You could go with the medium for many of the regular size crankbaits but i have not tried it. I purchased the large and Jumbo Kapsules.

Really good idea. A little pricy but it worked very well when rods were put inside car, especially when the dogs got riled up! They prevented impalement so they were ideal for us

Excellent product... great idea.. especially someone who rigs up multiple rods and baits in my boat deck but will be really great for the bank fisherman.. no more lures getting hung up while walking in the woods or stuck to your car seat ect..

The quality on these seems to be top notch! I didn't know something like this existed until about a week ago. So until now, anytime my rods were riding around with me there was a pretty good chance that hooks would get snagged in my net, carpet in the car, on me, etc. These are perfect for protecting your hooks, and everything around them!

I don't know why no other tackle company ever thought of this idea. As soon as I saw these I knew I had to get some. No more snagged hooks in the deck carpet or seats or line or rod sleeves in the rod locker! Sizes range from small finesse size baits to mid size to 110mm jerkbaits, the jumbo size should even be able to handle a 120-130mm size bait.

What a great idea to not have to worry about my dog getting hooked on one of my 4 poles when I take him on my boat. With that being said, they are extremely overpriced for what they are! Unfortunately they’re the only thing of their kind on the market that I have been able to find and I’d rather pay the overpaid price of these sub par quality capsules than pay a vet bill for my dog catching a hook.

Ingenious idea. It is a bit pricey and the size of the capsule itself is something to get used to but credit to the designer as it does solve most of the irritants associated with treble hooks so you can spend more time fishing.I spend way too much time dealing with treble hooks; the treble hook catch ratio of fish to anything but fish, is just nonsensical and hilarious. I put the rod down on the deck and the jerkbait hooks will find a way to snag the carpet and I find myself spending more time not fishing; the smaller the hooks the worst it seems. Also when grabbing a whole bunch of rods to move them around and getting a handful of hooks is not fun.While wraps help, these capsules are way more durable, more practical, easier and faster to operate and definitely helps eliminate frustration associated with treble hooks. They are well made. 110s do not fit in the medium; kastking does provide the dimensions of each capsule they offer. Everything is quality plastic and won’t rust. The built-in hook is also plastic so you can hook it to anywhere on the rod or reel without any concerns.
