I like the push button to open and they are sturdy and won’t get crushed in your bag. . I put hair ties, flossers, q-tips, makeup q-tips, lip balms, Bobby pins for travel. They could hold jewelry but I think necklaces would get tangled. To give an idea of a larger item, I could fit 3 Revlon lipsticks (the regular lipsticks) or about 10 of the single use eye drops. They are super stylish and cute. I bought the black and they look as nice as depicted. I plan to use them to organize my purse when not traveling. You could easily use these for craft items such as folding scissors, round yarn cutter (the metal one in the crochet area at the craft store). Knitting or crochet place markers, yarn or sewing needles, measuring tapes and the like.
