I have purchased altos many years ago and loved them. I replaced them with these due to wear n tear. They are very comfortable and save your hands making paddling for hours enjoyable. The DO NOT fit the screw paddles even though it may say it does. You absolutely need to have the push button paddles for it.

Very tough to get on, even when using soap and water to lubricate the handles and kayak shaft but once on they work well, comfortable and seem to be durable (haven’t had them long enough to really put them to the test).

I saw that others had issues installing these. Just put a drop of liquid soap on the inside and guide it onto the shaft. Slides right on. Just make sure to rinse well or the grips will slip around.

The grips seem well made and appear to be comfortable. I was not able to slide the grips on the shaft of my Werner Kalliste carbon straight shaft paddle. For me, impossible to slide on to shaft. The limited instruction leaflet suggested just wetting thoroughly the grip and shaft. I was able to only slide the grip part way onto the shaft. Wouldn't slide farther. I tried wetting the shaft more by sliding a screwdriver between the grip and shaft and pouring more water. Didn't help. Tried spraying shaft with cooking oil. Didn't help. Tried heating the grip with warm water. Still no success. Finally gave up but couldn't remove the grip either. Ended up removing the grip by cutting it off. The grips might work on a paddle shaft of different composition but would not work for me.

Allows firm grip on wet paddles, but may not fit all paddle shafts.
