After being sorely disappointed purchasing another top-rated tray, I started my search again for a better travel tray for my 2.5-year-old toddler. We travel cross-country every year by plane so I wanted something my son could use while sitting in his car seat during the long flights. This may not be as cute or attractive-looking as the tray I returned, but this functions WAY better (function always trumps looks!). The walls are made of thick, rigid material and the velcro holding them together is secure and heavy-duty. I really like the generous size of the side pockets. I can easily fit regular-sized markers in the pen slots and the zipper pocket on the other side can fit plenty of goodies for travel. There is a zipper beneath the tray that is easily accessible when the tray is folded and buckled. While the zippered compartment is pretty tight, I can fit several thin coloring and sticker books. The selling point for me were the little square holders atop the tray surface. They are simple to attach and detach should you need the entire tray surface. The tablet holder is just okay—not very tall and the border would impede in the viewing area, but I’m not planning on using it as a tablet holder so it’s not a loss for me. In fact, I used it today for my son’s Priddy book—perfect fit. It held the book open and upright while he ate his lunch in the car. There are ample pockets on either side of the tray walls, and the surface material seems like it will withstand plenty of use. I did detect a bit of a chemical smell upon opening the tray, but after a day, I can no longer smell it. I wiped the surface down before its first use and placed a disposable placemat (the kind that sticks to tables) before allowing my son to eat on it. He enjoyed his meal and the car ride, so I’d say this is a winner. Note: I used this in the car rear-facing and as you can see, the tray sits a bit high against my son and is at an angle due to the positioning of his car seat. Still, it worked fine.

Love this. Helps with keeping the little entertained during car rides, great for his tablet to watch cartoons and holding my phone. Looks just like the picture and fits in the car. Easy to carry from the house to the care and not hard to put together or take apart

We bought this for a 10 hour car trip with an almost-2 year old and it was definitely worth the money. He was able to play with toys and have snacks on board, or have the tablet with movies in front of him without actually being able to reach it (and turn it off). Lots of pockets and places to put things, and easy to wipe clean. (He got carsick and puked all over...twice. Heavy sigh.) It's more flimsy than I thought, but sturdy enough. It's also rather big, so it was a little awkward for him at that age, and covered everything from his chest to his feet, but he didn't seem to mind. There's also plenty of space for him to grow into it and get plenty more use out of it.

What a great product for road trips! My kid was able to keep himself entertained during a 6 hour drive. The tray had plenty of room for playing with and storing toys and snacks and water. And it even came in handy when he got car sick...the tray caught it before it got on his clothes! Gross, but the tray was easy to clean and still useable. The tray is very sturdy and had great storage compartments, and although the storage on the side flaps isn’t very accessible to my kid while he’s strapped in, I can still keep things there for later use. It’s very easy to set up and put away. A travel tray was recommended to me and after my own research, I selected this one from Kenley and have been very pleased. It truly is a great design. I’ll likely buy another when my baby gets old enough to use it.

We tried this on a 7 hr car ride with my 5 yr old son. I secured the strap around the car seat before we left. I could easily clip the tray on and off from the front seat while hubby drove. My son loved it. Study enough to play cars, eat snacks and color. Cheetos wiped off easily with out a stain. I wiped up juice spill quickly. The fabric keep the juice from soaking in for the minute I needed. Over all a success. My son loved it. The table sat straight on the car seat arms and did not tilt awkwardly. I used it on a Chicco Nextfit Zip car seat. Worth the $ paid.I used an different tray table for my 2 year. He was able to take the other tray apart 3 times before I threw it away. I am buying a second one of these tray tables for the 2 year old.

Bought three of these trays for my kids for a summer road trip, and the clip on one of the trays broke before we could even take our second pit stop. I was just try to snap it back into place after a bathroom break and one of the teeth on the clip just snapped right off, making it impossible to clip the tray in place and preventing it from sliding off my daughter's lap. Pretty frustrating as we were only about an hour into our 8 hour drive. The two trays that didn't break were great, survived many naps and allowed me to load them up with snacks and entertainment in their laps at each pit stop so I could enjoy my ride.

We are on a trip and a friend on Facebook asked if we liked our kids’ lap trays and I said YES and told her why—thought I’d pop back on Amazon and share my review here too. These lap trays are great—we’ve been using them on trips for over a year now. They have little adjustable spots for drinks and a strap that clips behind their waist when driving so the ‘desk’ doesn’t fly forward when the driver needs to slam on the brakes. They also have zipper pockets for markers, toys, etc. My kids still spread their markers and toys all over the vehicle somehow, but it definitely helps with trip organization! They love the flat surface for eating to-go meals, setting their iPads on and coloring/writing. My daughters are 6 and 8 and I anticipate them being able to be used for several more years. I also like how they can be unvelcroed (so?) and folded down (with a few books and markers still inside) and carried on their shoulders when walking with the same strap that was clipped behind their back when they were in the car. Super convenient.

Really wish it was more sturdy as my son as to hold his legs up to have to flat. The iPad part doesn’t actually hold his iPad Air 3 not sure if it’s useful as it can’t hold the iPad. Any recommendations?
