I ordered this mixer based on the Kenmore brand name and the fact that it came with dough hooks. What a mistake! This mixer is INCREDIBLY loud, even at its lowest speed. The lowest speed is also WAY too fast, so the other reviewer was right - ingredients go flying everywhere. It goes so fast, I’ve never used any speed higher than 1 - even for whipped cream. It’s past the return window, or I would. Thankfully I don’t use it very often, but if you’re a serious cook/baker, spend a little more than the $50 I wasted on this one. ANGRY - what happened to the Kenmore brand????

The lowest speed on this is not slow, so theres no gradual increase, it says it has 5 levels but it's really like on or off. However, I LOVE the retractable cord - I think all small appliances should have this retractable cord feature and I always look for it when purchasing anything handheld it makes storage so much manageable. The case for the beaters does not clip in well to the unit so it falls off if you aren' holding it on, this product could use a re-design honestly, but it does the job in a pinch - we'll be looking for a different model to replace this one that still has a retractable cord but a better low-speed and storage caddy for the extra attachments.

like the retractable cord it has alot of power on low beaters are large enough to mix cake dough. case is less user friendly

Very nice retractable cord mixer. Works well but the lowest speed is on par with most mixer's high speed. This is a five speed mixer. Level one equates to HIGH on most mixers. Level two is slightly faster, level three approaches MACH 1, level four is even higher, and level five approaches WARP SPEED. Needless to say, if you try to mix anything thin it will fling half your bowl all over the kitchen. I've never made as big of a mess making a chocolate cake with any previously owned mixer as I made with this one. It has plenty of power and is as good as any good hand mixer out there, it just need to have much lower low speeds.
