Absolutely no complaints. Setting the combination was straightforward, and the lock feels solid. The cable does coil pretty tightly, though. I imagine that could be an issue if you wanted to use this lock with a lighter device like an external drive, but it's not a problem at all with my laptop.

I purchased about 30 of these to secure our "floating" laboratory laptops. The coiled cable makes it nice and neat and I love the simplicity of the button to unlock. Highly recommend these to anyone. Be cautious though, I placed my first order in July 2012, and just ordered a few more this month (Feb '13). What was sent this time was actually the K64560US model (http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-K64560US-ComboSaver-Portable-Notebook/dp/B001911ZRQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2NZAWZF4OW8M7&coliid=I2GX4YSIX74G1A). This is NOT the same as the K64670US. And yes, it makes a difference - it's a completely different model of lock and NOT the one I want! Returned for an immediate refund. Can only assume it was an error of the seller (Galactics).

It works just as described. If you're looking for a cheap theft deterrent, this works. It's simple to set up, and fairly reliable in that respect. However, that's the products real purpose. While everything is built strongly in and of itself, there are issues:-The cable is short, thin, and coiled. This makes it hard to truly get much comfort or room out of it, and could probably be snipped with anything a bit more powerful if not with a pair of large firm adult scissors. Plus, the coiling means it'll get all messed up, like your childhood toy the slinkee. However, the shortness, despite how it is annoying, could cause it to be more difficult to get out of somewhere like a table without having to move your laptop, which is a good deterrent.Overall, it's great for deterring, but maybe a little expensive for what you're getting. I mainly got it because I know it goes with their securetek backpack, which is the product I'm very interested to get soon.EDIT: My original review said it was wobbly. This was the device I was using it on's fault. It is not wobbly, my laptop's locking port is just big.

Pros:- good deterrent for stepping away from computer for a small amount of time(not end all be all of keeping your laptop locked down).- coiled cable is great for portability and stays out of the way when connected to your laptop- pretty easy to operate aka you don't have to be a genius to figure out how to set and operate this lock.- price is relatively cheap for a bit of sense of mind when you need to go to the restroom after having that 2nd cup of coffee.Cons:- combination wheel a little bit stiff. I expect it to loosen up a bit after more use. Not a big con.I honestly wanted a key lock, but I saw this product and I figured a combo would be with me all the time unlike a key. Unless someone is sitting around with some sort of hacksaw or something waiting for you to step away from your laptop, you should feel secure enough to step away from your computer for short periods of time if necessary. So far it has worked as intended and I wholeheartedly recommend this product.

Works great. So many of my devices have pre cut holes for this lock in them.I use it for:MacBook ProDJ ControllerPortable Piano KeyboardMidi KeyboardLarge Desktop MonitorThe only thing i don't like is the coil tangles itself sometimes and can be annoying but doesn't effect functionality.Easy to use and reprogram with just a pen or something to push in the setting button

For starters, the cable on this lock seems a little on the thin side. It's definitely strong, and probably wouldn't yield to any tools that the average burglar would have, but I have very little confidence that it would hold up against a determined assault by a professional thief. That said, the cable isn't the real problem with this lock. The real problem is the unlocking mechanism. There is no user-input required to unlock the lock; when the dials all hit the right points, the lock magically and instantly springs open, no matter how fast you spin the wheel. This means a thief does not have to "try" all 10^4 potential combinations - they can scroll through the first three wheels' 10^3 combinations and spin the fourth wheel rapidly on each possibility. This dramatically reduces the security of the device. All in all, it's not a bad device. While it's not as secure as it ought to be, it's still fairly secure, and will deter 99.9% of potential thieves simply by being there and looking intimidating. Having no key to lose is only a plus in my opinion.

This is the latest version of the well-known combo "kensington"...it has more room to maneuver than the former version. I am a victim of a horrendous fire where i escaped with just the clothes on my back. EVERYTHING was burnt and I lost my house and all my possessions including my expensive laptop and yep, my kensington lock. Purchased another laptop and only want this kensington lock. I find it durable, sturdy and easy to pick a combination and set it..just be careful when setting the combo..make sure the button is up and follow the illustrations..this is also the coiled version which i like since it takes up less room in my bag..it is a good deterrent..thank you for this lock...i like Kensington lock and highly recommend.. it shipped by amazon so i received it like always, quickly..

This is.meant to attach to large and expensive products to secure them. But seems very flimsy and easy to break.

It is light, convenient, reliable, and cheap! The only DISADVANTAGE for all PC lockers is that they unlock automatically when the right number is put.For example: there are 10 000 different combinations. It doesn't take a lot of time for the robber to steal it when he has to just spin those numbers fast, and the locker just unlocks by it self when riches the right number.I did an experiment: it took me 33 mins to spin all the numbers from 0000 to 9999 quickly. But people never put something close to 0000 or 9999.People usually put something like 5465; thus it will take even less time (15 mins) for robber to scroll all combinations until it just opens automatically.
