I purchased these 2 years ago and decided to make a review today after I installed a pair of speakers for the front doors. I'm doing so because I'm finally happy with the sound system in my very late model car (1991 Nissan Sentra). I have the 6930's running stock to a and all I can say is that these Speakers not only sound great, but they "bump" - and with no distortion. After 2 years, they sound just as great as the day I installed them and the head unit provides enough power that, in my honest opinion, I do not need an amplifier. For example, when the volume is turned up to almost the max setting, the rear view mirror actually vibrates to the beat of the music :)Pros:Easy to installPolypropylene material instead of paper3-way speakersSound great at high settingNo distortionCons:Not really a con, but the speaker magnet was too large/long for my old car that I had to buy a 6 x 9 speaker riser so they could fit in the back of my car.

*** Avoid buying from CAR AUDIO ONLINE - dishonest seller *** Good budget pair of speakers. I purchased two pairs of these speakers. The first pair was purchased from Amazon (no issues). The second pair was purchased from Car Audio Online and were missing parts! The speakers install fairly easily, although the connectors in my vehicle did not fit the connections on the speakers. I would have either had to rewire the whole audio system or splice the speaker wires (I chose to splice). Also, the speaker covers have a rubber cording that is used to press-fit the cover onto the speaker. I installed the speakers behind the existing panels in the car so I did not use the covers, but I can see the rubber cording being an issue holding the covers on in a hot automobile (in very warm or cold climates). I would have prefered a more secure method of holding the covers on such as clips or screws. Overall, nice speakers for the price. Would buy again. Again, I would go out of your way to avoid buying from Car Audio Online. Beware!

Honestly, I was expecting these Kenwood KFC-G6930 speakers to be a little louder. Driven by a 15W per channel Kenwood KRC-3004 head unit they sounded kind of hollow and were easily washed out by a pair of Kenwood KFC-835C 3.5in front speakers. You can feel a lot of air movement at the cone of these 6x9's (I was surprised), but at 15 watts they just can't translate that air movement into a comparable level of sound volume. Obviously an amplifier would improve that, and the lack of depth I perceive could be due to the additional tweeters these speakers have that the previous 6x9's lacked, however I was a little disappointed that these speakers did not provide an improvement in sound over the 20 year old and failing Jensen 6x9's they replaced. While I'm on the subject of disappointment... the cheap brown cardboard box with folded interior shells surrounding the speakers was a real let down. No full color boxing, no styrofoam interior to fully support the speakers, no factory seal tape to ensure these were new and not used/returned items. Truly sub-par compared to Kenwood's typical packaging. On the plus side however the speakers did include ample wiring, eight screws with matching speed nuts as well as handsome grille/surround assemblies and two glue strings (the latter of which you cut into a few shorter pieces and place in the outer surrounds grille channel to hold the perforated grilles on more securely.)The poor packaging though... both speakers arrived with damaged positive terminals. No Bueno.I was also less than impressed with the center tube though which the tweeter stand passes, which was a not-fully-covered-with-epoxy, brown cardboard affair. Thankfully hidden behind the two outer tweeters, but no reason for something that unsightly.Additionally, I disliked the protrusion of the tweeters beyond the perimeter mounting ring. As these are designed to be flush mounted in exposed situations (attached to the cargo area interior panels in my installation) should anything bump into them it's likely to damage the tweeters and/or their mounting stand rather than simply bumping into the plastic grille surround that's supposed to protect the speaker.Particular to my situation, which was not a "factory replacement" installation, I found that compared to the 6x9's I replaced, these Kenwood's have a larger basket which will require further modification of the plastic interior panels for proper fit.I gave these speakers thee stars (rather than two or one) as all the name brand 6x9 speaker reviews contained something to the effect of "I thought they'd be louder"... I was able to bend the positive terminals back straight... I'm probably the only person who cares about the box... and the fitment issues are due to my particular installation. Honestly, had the speakers been louder I'd given them five stars in spite of all the above, but they're not... so I can't.

These speakers were easy to install and sound great. They fit good and took very little time to install. I put them in the front doors of a 2011 Town & Country van for my son and his wife.
