About this item

  • Estimated rate of flow up to 37 gpm at 60 psi
  • PVC for corrosion resistance
  • Standard mount with NPT male threads for attaching to NPT female fittings
  • For use with 12" x 1/4" stainless steel rod and 6" float ball (sold separately)
  • 3/4" NPT male threaded inlet and outlet

This Kerick PS75SS float valve is a standard-mount style and is made of PVC with 18-8 stainless steel hardware. The valve has a 0.48" orifice and its estimated rate of flow is 27.5 gallons per minute (gpm) at 30 pounds per square inch (psi) and 37 gpm at 60 psi. The valve inlet and outlet have 3/4" NPT male threads for attaching to NPT female fittings. The valve is made of National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) approved PVC (polyvinyl chloride), its replaceable seals are made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) for durability and chemical resistance, and its hardware is made of 18-8 stainless steel for corrosion resistance. The valve uses a 12" x 1/4" stainless steel rod and a 6" float ball (sold separately). This float valve is suitable for use in a variety of applications, such as fountains, livestock water tanks, and chemical manufacturing plants.

Float valves use a rod and float ball attached to a valve shutoff lever to control flow in or out of a tank. The float ball rises or falls with the level of liquid in the tank, changing the angle of the valve shutoff lever. When the angle of the valve lever changes sufficiently, the valve opens or closes. Float valves are rated according to the volume of liquid that can flow through them at a particular pressure to ensure the tank can be refilled as quickly as it is emptied. The material that a float valve is constructed from must be suitable for the liquid in which it operates, which may be corrosive or at an extreme temperature. Float valves are used to automatically regulate the level of liquid within tanks in a variety of applications, such as fountains, livestock water tanks, cooling towers, and chemical manufacturing plants.

Kerick Valve manufactures fluid level control valves for industrial applications. The company, founded in 1994, is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL.

Works great for backyard pond. Quite heavy duty. You need large floater to get valve to shut tight (at least 4 inches if float is submerged, and 5 inches if half submerged, and 6 inch for quarter submerged. does not include rod (1/4 inch).

Purchased to replace one that had been in service for over 22 years. I prefer to replace the whole thing instead of just the seal, not much difference in price anyway. I won't buy any other brand.

Iv'e had to replace my float assembly twice before. I find that the plastic made in florida works the best and has a good seal

I bought 3 of these valves for livestock waterers, thought they would be great installed 2, 1 kept for a spare on day 2 one of the valves would not shut off completely overflowing the trough(cows don’t like to ice skate but now they have to to get a drink) Replaced it with the spare, day 2 will not seal Water is from a well, nothing foreign in the seat float set well below high water level, float is not waterlogged, water pressure not to high(?) as valve #1 still works(same rod length same float) both valves feel like they hang up. If I jiggle the float rod they will seal, but I have to go to work so I can’t jiggle the damn thing after every cow drinks. From my extensive shopping, and looking for a valve that would work ,this is not the only valve that sucks it is apparently widespread. Still going to give it 2 stars because one of them works correctly.
