These controllers do actually get programmed and work, but the instructions are hard to understand, though, once you get a hang of it, you can program these things like butter--one after another.Eh, let's see if I can summirise the programming for my vehicle (your may vary, but it probably all the same).1) LOCK yourself inside of the vehicle, from INSIDE, using your DOOR's lock button, as you sit in driver's seat with your key and ALL of your remots being ready.2) Quickly insert and pull out, 6 (or 10, if it doesn't work) times your key into the ignition, without turning the key. Do this as fast as you can, trying to do each insert and pull out cycle in less then a second. Once sucessful, the emergency blinkers (both turn signals' bulbs) would blink twice together on your display. This indicates that the system is ready for programming of your remotes.3) Insert your key into ignition and turn it past the regular music ACC position and to where the all of the lights on the dash light up, but don't start the engine--leave the key in that position.4) UNLOCK and LOCK the driver's side front door from INSIDE of the vehicle using the DOOR'S lock button. QUICKLY press LOCK button on your 1st remote. The blinkers would blink on the dash panel indicating that this remote was programmed.5) UNLOCK and LOCK the driver's side front door from INSIDE of the vehicle using the DOOR'S lock button. QUICKLY press LOCK button on your 2ND remote. The blinkers would blink on the dash panel indicating that this remote was programmed.6) Repeat step #4 for all the rest of your remotes (including the original one)s), if you have any).ALL of the remotes must be done like this, one after another, even the original ones.7) Once you programmed all of your remotes, turn off and pull out the key from the ignition.8) UNLOCK all of your doors using the driver's side door's unlock button.9) Now you can test if the remotes work.HOWEVER, some video instruction and another instruction say to start the engine afterwards, so that maybe a thing too. Also, you might have to unlock and open the door and shut ot close after everything is done to stop the programming cycle--not sure if this is enough or you have to do it as well as turning on of the engine afterwards. Definitely open and close the door after everything is said and done.I did have a hard time getting to the sucess point. You might have to practice time and again. Don't give up. If the blinkers are responding when you press lock on the remote during step #4, then you are on the right track and the remotes are working fine and the battery inside of them is fine. No need to panic. There is a QR code on the paper that comes with the remotes, which, if you scan it with a Google Lense app or something similar, you would get to the instructions on the web for your specific vehicle.Just remember to UNLOCK and LOCK again the doors from inside for EACH remote. Don't try to program all remotes together in parallel--they are supposed to be done together but in a serial way, one after another.Works for Nissan xTerra 2004.As a side note, the key rings that came with these remotes are worthless and unbend and stay unbent, thus making it possible to lose the remote. My remote actually came off in my pocket when it was attached with this ring. Get a screwy braided stainless steel plastic coated ones that you can get on temu or some place like that for a dollar.Overall, I definitely recommend these remotes. They and the batteries inside are brand new and should last for a long time. They could be opened and the batteries replaced, should the need arise.

I have the base model 2007 Nissan Versa S. Had no key fob when bought used. Read into a forum and found IF car has the tire pressure monitor (TMPS) and electric door locks you can program a fob to unlock/lock doors. Took me 2 minutes to program. Now Im not living in 1985 anymore using a key to unlock and lock the doors. 10000% worth the $12. Get in car. Lock doors. Put key in and out ignition until 4ways flash. Turn ignition forward. Push any button on key fob. 4ways flash. Done. Unlock door and open. Programming done.

After my remote unlock key malfunctioned, I went to two different AutoZones looking for a remote. They both tried to sell me $70.00 basic remotes saying it was all they had (the $20-$30 ones were conveniently out of stock). I'm SO glad I thought to check Amazon before buying that nonsense.Set up didn't go without a hitch, unfortunately (I think partly due to my own car locks being old and catching). I wasn't able to set up my second remote no matter what instructions I followed. You only have a certain amount of time to complete the entire process (not just the first step) before it resets and you have to start over, so familiarize yourself with the process before beginning. The only other weakness is it doesn't have an indicator light at the tip, so you won't know if you're too far away from your vehicle for it to pick it up, or the battery has died/or broken.Aside from those negatives, I'm REALLY glad I paid a fraction of the cost for TWO of the same remotes AutoZone was trying to rip me off for. It works great, and once this one breaks I'll have a backup I can use.

Can' beat it for the price. May not be "OEM" quality, but they work great, and programing was easy.

Really great for the price for two of them and would have two extra keys in case if you lock yourself out, but I had to go on a Nissan Xterra forum page to learn how to connect new remotes to my vehicle. Really easy to install.

The description said it was from 2002 but gave it a shot for my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder R50 and it worked perfectly! keep in mind YOU HAVE TO PROGRAM IT!! But it’s really easy just follow the steps there’s a lot of videos and reviews that are missing steps on how to program it don’t miss a step!…1: take the remote in one hand and your car keys on the other and get in your vehicle, close the door and make sure your windows are all the way up and that THE KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION! after you get your windows up2: push the door lock switch twice so ALL doors are locked3: WITHIN 10-SECONDS of you locking the doors insert your key into the ignition IN AND OUT, IN AND OUT, IN AND OUT(Fully in and out) at normal speed over and over fully paying attention to the dash till your hazards flash on the dash as soon as that happens put the key back in the ignition(if not already in it) and switch it to accessory(DO NOT START THE VEHICLE ONLY TO ACCESSORY POSITION)4: with your new remote on hand click the lock button and the dash hazards will flash once5: switch the key back to off and remove the key from the ignition6: push the unlock button on you car door, for your door locks7: open your door with the door handle to open your door and exit your vehicle and close the door fully8: use your new and now programmed remote and it should lock and unlock your vehicle(if it’s compatible check the comparability picture on the product description) if not re-do this steps without missing a step as described. It worked perfectly for my 2001 Pathfinder R50 the first time I did this steps.Hope it works for you.
