K&F Concept Mini Matte Box, DSLR Camera Matte Box with Carbon Fiber Top Flag Side Wings Square Filters Trays, for 67/72/77/82/95mm Lenses, for 4x5.65 Square ND UV Filter/Circular Filter

I have no prior experience with matte boxes, so I had no idea what to expect with this K&F Concept Mini Matte Box. First of all, this is a very well made product. Most of the matte box appears to be made of aluminum, with a few small plastic parts and the top and side wings made of carbon fiber. This makes the entire unit very light; I barely noticed the difference in weight with this mounted to my camera. The adjusting knobs work smoothly, and the lens adapter screwed smoothly onto my lens. It was also very easy to then mount the matte box onto the adapter after screwing the adapter to the lens. I like that the matte box comes with a variety of adapters to fit common lens sizes; it has adapters for the two sizes I use most, 72mm and 95mm. Finally, I like the very nice hard case that comes with the matte box.I am not at all sure what I will be able to do with this device. I know that matte boxes are most commonly used with video, which I rarely shoot, but I can already see potential uses for still photography. I experimented with it a little, and I can see already that it offers better control over unwanted light than a lens hood. The matte box has filter holders for rectangular filters, but I already have a large selection of round filters, so I don't anticipate using the filter holders. However, I do see a reason to use this matte box with some round filters. For example, I used it with a variable ND filter that won't work with a lens hood. With this matte box, I can use the VND filter and get better control over unwanted light than I would if I could use a lens hood. The matte box isn't something I will use all the time, but I can see times when it will be just the thing I need.Overall, the K&F Concept Mini Matte Box is an excellent product that fills a niche for photography hobbyists. Just as it isn't an item to use every day, it isn't an item for every photographer. If a matte box is something a photographer wants, the K&F Concept Mini Matte Box is a great choice. I recommend it and give it five stars.

Picked up this mini matte box with barn doors and French flags, and it’s been a great addition to my camera rig. It does a solid job of blocking out stray light and reducing lens flares, which makes a noticeable difference in outdoor and bright lighting conditions. The barn doors and French flags are fully adjustable, so I can fine-tune the setup depending on the shot. Build quality is solid for the size, lightweight but sturdy, and it mounts securely without adding too much bulk. Works great on my smaller rig, and it doesn’t get in the way when adjusting focus or swapping filters. Definitely gives my shots a more professional look without breaking the bank. If you’re looking for a compact, easy-to-use matte box to control light and cut down on glare, this one does the job well. A nice upgrade for any filmmaker or photographer!

This matte box is very nice for the price point. The included adapters fit a wide range of lens sizes, making it a versatile accessory for entry filmmakers and content creators. The carbon fiber barn doors with adjustable top door are very sleek looking and keep the weight to a minimum.Setup is a breeze by following the included instructions, even for those new to matte boxes. And the hard shell case it comes in is a nice touch for that added protection during storage and transport.I had no issues when using it on a test shoot the other day. It effectively blocked out the afternoon sun glare, which can notoriously throw a wrench in your plans if you aren’t prepared.

This is a great mattebox with a very nice fold down design to easily fit inside a small little travel case. Works extremely well allowing for those nice filters to be used with your camera. simply buy a set and use multiple filters without issue

I'm really becoming a fan of this brand, they consistently come out with reasonably-priced gear for the micro-budget filmmaker. The metal barn doors are durable and versatile, and fit my ZV-E1 camera. The wings give that extra added sun exclusion when working outdoors.

this comes in a very very nice case this is very lightweight mini box its pro build well made. it has 7 adapters I love everything about this. if I had to have a problem with something I would say they don't sell other adapter for other lens sizes. I did have to get a step up adapter.

We shoot video and take photographs with a variety of mirrorless cameras. This is a well-made matte box that offers the kind of protection that I'd normally get from a lens hood while adding the ability to add 4x5.65 filters to my rig. It fits a variety of lens, including the 77mm filter size that many of my Canon lens take. Impressed with K&F quality. Recommended.

Die K&F Matte Box kommt im schönen schwarzen Karton an, darin befindet sich eine stabile Aufbewahrungsbox in der die Matte Box sicher aufbewahrt und transportiert werden kann. Neben der eigentlichen Matte Box finden darin noch die fünf mitgelieferten Adapterringe (67, 72, 77, 82 sowie 95mm) gut gesichert Platz. Zusätzlich bietet eine eingebaute kleine Tasche im Deckel noch Platz für Masken, Filterfolien oder sonstiges Zubehör.Eine Matte Box oder zu Deutsch Kompendium kennt man vor allem von professionellen Film- und Kinokameras. Hier lassen sich einzelnen Flügel individuell einstellen und schirmen die Aufnahme vor Reflexen oder intensiven Lichtquellen ab. Gegenüber einer normalen Sonnenblende kann man hier die Aufnahme wesentlich gezielter vor Lichteinfällen abschirmen.Die K&F Matte Box ist mit ihren rund 20cm Breite und rund 13cm Höhe (ohne Stellschrauben) schon eine etwas größere Ausführung und recht universell für Film und Fotografie einsetzbar. Die gesamte Ausführung mit Ihren Karbonflügeln ist recht professionell, die K&F Mattebox ist allerdings für eine Direktmontage am Objektiv ausgelegt, ein Stangensystem mit Aufnahme für eine Rig liegt dem Paket nicht bei.Die metallenen Adapterringe lassen sich nach Lösen einer groß dimensionierten Stellschraube leicht wechseln. Die Adapterringe sind für das Objektiv mit einem Außengewinde versehen, auf der Innenseite ist aber auch noch ein gleich großes Innengewinde angebracht, in der sich für das Objektiv passende Filter einschrauben lassen. ND- und Effektfilter lassen sich auf diese Weise weiter nutzen.Die Auswahl an Durchmessern ist absolut ausreichend. Mein größtes Tele mit 86mm Durchmesser konnte ich mittels eines Konverterrings befestigen, ein großes Spiegeltele mit 95mm konnte ich sogar direkt anschließen.Die Aufnahme für die Adapterringe ist abnehmbar, zwei kleine Klemmen auf der Unterseite halten das Ganze. Während das Abnehmen recht einfach gelingt, so ist das Aufstecken wesentlich kniffliger. Das System ist sehr paßgenau gefertigt ist und muß daher sehr präzise und gerade wieder aufgesetzt werden. Für den schnellen Wechsel ist das Lösen des Adapterrings mittels der Stellschraube wesentlich einfacher und schneller.Die beiden seitlichen sowie der obere Flügel (= French Flags) der Matte Box besteht aus rund 1mm dickem Carbon, was das komplette Kompendium mit rund 360gr recht leicht macht. Die beiden seitlichen Flügel sind rund 11cm hoch und rund 9,5cm breit, der obere Flügel ist rund 17 x 13cm groß. Hier lassen sich noich zusätzlich zwei dreieckige Flügel aufschieben, was dann zu einer beeindruckenden Breite von maximal 30cm im vorderen Bereich führt. Der linke Flügel (objektivseitig betrachtet) lässt sich zusätzlich noch rund 2,5cm nach außen schwenken.Der obere Flügel lässt sich um rund 135° nach oben schwenken, dann stoppt die Stellschraube eine größere Winkelstellung, die seitlichen Flügel lassen sich weit über 180° seitlich wegschwenken.Im inneren Bereich sind zwei Filterschalen mit einer Größe von etwa 14,5 x 10cm (Innenmaß) untergebracht, in die sich Filterfolien, Glasfilter, Masken oder ähnliches einlegen lassen (4,0 x 5,65 Zoll). Diese sind durch einen seitlichen Halter aus Aluminium fixiert und lassen sich einzeln oder im Doppelpack einlegen.Zur Befestigung von sonstigem Zubehör sind oben zweimal ein Standard Stativanschluß (1/4 Zoll) sowie ein 3/8 Zoll Gewinde angebracht. Auch an einen Cold-Shoe zum Aufstecken eines Mikrofons, einer Beleuchtungseinheit oder eines Blitzgerätes wurde gedacht. Auf der Unterseite ist ebenfalls ein Gewinde erkennbar, dies scheint aber ein normales metrisches Gewinde mit 4mm zu sein, dessen Einsatzmöglichkeit sich mit nicht erschließt..Fazit:Tolle universell einsetzbare Matte Box vor allem für die professionelleren Film-Kameras, aber durchaus auch für die anspruchsvollere Fotografie (Mittelformat- oder Studiofotografie) einsetzbar. Bei einer normalen DSLR wirkt Sie etwas überdimensioniert, kann aber auch hier der Top-Problemlöser bei schwierigen Lichtverhältnissen sein, bei der die Standard-Sonnenblende versagt. Der Preis von zur Zeit knapp 140,-€ erscheint zwar auf den ersten Blick etwas hoch, allerdings ist er für die gelieferte Verarbeitung und die Erweiterungsfähigkeit absolut gerechtfertigt. Wirkliche negative Seiten habe ich hier nicht gefunden, daher gibt es von mir die vollen 5 Sterne.

Viene con un estuche rígido de transporte, y anillos metálicos para adaptarlo a distintos diámetros, de 67mm a 95mm.Entre sus características, permite emplearla a la vez con filtros, de modo que le añade versatilidad.Los paneles se pueden ajustar y fijar en la posición deseada con facilidad, simplemente con unas perillas de apriete. Gracias a ello, se evitan reflejos sobre la lente, ya sea en el exterior o en un ambiente con iluminación controlada.No cabe duda de que este producto es para profesionales, dada su alta calidad y versatilidad. Para un usuario normal, un parasol le puede servir para el 90% de los casos.Además de cara a trabajar para un cliente, la apariencia importa, por lo que ir con un set mas voluminoso parece mas profesional, pues algunos clientes pueden no tomarte en serio si vas con un equipo sencillo (con el que puedes realizar el trabajo perfectamente).En resumen, me parece un accesorio excelente, de muy buena calidad y muy útil para grabaciones profesionales.
