Originally bought the Extreme Max 5600.3093 which was cute, appeared sturdy and probably has some utility in some applications - but I couldn't get a soft shackle through the opening. Returned it and bought this KFI ATV block - roughly the same price but has a larger shackle opening. I use it for general ATV work with a 2500lb winch (3/16" synthetic line): logging, extraction, etc. The KFI is slightly larger but rated @ 8K lbs (vice 4K) and still small enough to get stowed away on the ATV somewhere. I find snatch blocks more useful than rings sometimes since the line tends to fall out of rings when untensioned. Good video review up here showing the 2 SBs side by side. Note that I am ruthless with the winch (Badland 2500) and frequently find myself pulling stuff so heavy (or on a "weird" angle) I have to anchor the back of the quad to a tree - have not "exploded" it yet - nor have I lubricated it. Good product and can recommend. Lately I find myself using 2 of these (with tree straps) for more complex angle changes and longer runs pulling logs or boulders from across the creek - fits both the 3/16" synthetic line on my winch and my 1/4" extension rope without issue.

Used with a HF 2500lb winch to load 2000lb cars onto a trailer. Worked just fine.

nice heavy duty snatch block for 4 wheeler winch... I disassembled pully to grease shaft to prevent retaining clips popping off during use (as noted in other reviews).

I bought this for trail use with an off-road lawnmower, but I've also used it to straighten up cars that winched onto my trailer crooked. No issues at all so far.

This is heavy duty and for 17 bucks seemed like the best price. Very heavy duty metal and I would believe it likely will handle the capacities stated. Can’t wait to try my new snatch block! For those who aren’t sure what a snatch block is it is a pulley that will provide double the force of simply pulling on the rope, each snatch block or pulley, that you add, apparently multiplies the force, additionally. One snatch block on a pulley makes a 500 pound weight only 250 pounds of pull, etc. The snatch block is different than a regular pulley and that you don’t have to feed the line through it. The block opens up so that you can just snatch it right onto the cable or rope without him, doing your whole harness.

Do you need to winch something at an awkward angle? Me too, I hooked this snatch block up to a strap tied to a tree that fell across the trail and hooked to a tree on the side of the trail and winched the tree right off the trail and down the mountain. This thing is made for doubling your winch power with this as a pulley or winching at random angles because sometimes winching in a straight line isn't where you need to go.

I initially bought this because I'd bought a 1 ton winch for my four wheeler, and I liked the idea of being able to double the pulling power. I didn't think it was a big deal since 2,000 pounds is heavier than my ATV. However, if you actually read the winch manuals you'll find that with most winches power rating drops the longer you run the motor and the farther out you run the cable. So now the idea of mechanical advantage really made sense. The block is stout and heavy with powder coated steel plates and what looks like an aluminum pulley. I'm sure it could hold up to a half inch cable no problem. When you get one you'll start finding all sorts of other uses. I've attached a photo of me using mine with rope to pull a broken lawnmower up a ramp into my pickup using my ATV. These really make tough jobs a lot easier. Combine with a tree strap and you have many more options if you get stuck.

I purchased this product many years ago. I still have it fortunately, I’ve never had to use it however, it’s been wet dried no rust all kinds of terrain in my quad quality product in my opinion.

The product dimensions listed were 18.5 x 12.2 x 4.8 cm. The actual dimensions were 14.5cm x 7.8cm x 3.2cm. I felt a little ripped off because of that, and because I paid $33 for an item that when I hold it in my hand and think about how simple and how small it is, seems like it's worth about $22. Overall I'm happy with the product. It's good and sturdy and should actually work perfectly for what I want to use it for. The item weight was listed as 91 g. I wasn't disappointed about that because that was SO far off I knew it was wrong before I ordered the item. Actual item weight is 999 g. It did list on the box it came in that it's rated for 8000 lbs. It would be nice if that was stamped right on the snatch block itself. I labelled 8000 lbs on it with a stick on label so I won't forget. 8000 lbs seems decently believable. I plan on using it for 5000 lbs so I'm not worried about that. The diameter of the pulley inside the curve where the cable would sit is about 5.4cm so you know how much it will bend your cable. Bigger diameter is easier on your cable but it's bigger diameter than the drum that the cable wraps up on on my little winch so it seems perfect for me.
