I was a bit nervous when I bought this, because some of the reviews said that the tracks didn't fit together well, but I did not have this problem at all. The tracks wiggle a bit when they are put together, but no more than any other wooden train set. Plus, the tracks in a wooden train set should be a bit loose, because that makes it easier to set up different configurations. The tracks connecting to the bucket top were very snug, almost too snug. I definitely prefer this over a loosely fitting bucket top though, as that would cause the mountain tracks to fall apart all the time.We ended up chipping the wood on one of the tracks trying to attach it to the mountain, but luckily the piece is still usable. While the plastic bucket top mountain seems to be a snug fit, all of the wooden pieces are likely compatible with other wooden train sets. We mixed them with a Tiny Conductors set with no problems, and I plan on purchasing other brands, like Thomas and Friends, to go with it in the future. Like the other reviews said, the trains are not the greatest and do not stay on the tracks very well, so don't expect much in that department. We ended up using different sized hot wheels cars on the tracks instead. Thanks to the other reviews, I expected the trains to be crappy when I bought the set, so I am not disappointed. Assembly was not too difficult, but the instructions were unclear about which length of straight pieces should go where, so I give it 4 out of 5 stars for assembly. Overall, it's not a perfect product, but the bucket top mountain and other pieces are really fun, and I think it's a great purchase for the price. I especially like how unique some of the pieces are, like the mountain and the rock quarry, which was my main reason for purchasing it. I think those unique pieces will make it fun to play with again and again. I am already planning to buy one of the other sets from this brand when I have the money for it.

We got this as a gift for our son who is 3. I loved the fact that all the pieces are contained in the container. I think this was a great deal for the quality of the train and wooden tracks. We love the extra pieces that makes it very enjoyable. The con about the storage container is that you have to be intentional about putting the pieces in or it will not close. With that said, we also purchased extra pieces to add to the set and they all fit within the container.Unfortunitely, like any plastic container, it does not hold up to a 3 year old boy jumping off the couch on to it, repeatedly. So our box broke. I wish they offered replacement boxes.

I'm not very fond of train sets due to the amount of parts and space they need. However, I thought I would give these a try since my son loves trains so much. My favorite part about this set is how they are stored in the box and take up minimal space. The amazing part is how much comes in this box. Sometimes he just plays with the accessories instead of building the train track completely. The track is so easy to put together that my two year old can assemble it with minimal help. The tracks are two sided making this process easier. A fraction of the price of Thomas the Train and same great quality too. My son plays with these every single day and they are one of his favorite toys.

It's a great set for my almost 3-year-old. It came with a visual instruction on how to build the train set; it was easy to assemble even though the parts aren't labeled.The tracks fits well and a toddler can build their own tracks easily. Though some of the tracks doesn't lay perfectly; it still lays flat enough for the trains to pass through without any issues. The wooden tracks are clean and smooth.I docked off a star because the magnets that connects the train aren't strong enough. They don't stay together especially uphills. However, I've read that there are other trains you can buy that is compatible. One of the best feature is that you can fit all parts in the bucket after playing. There's no need to worry about storage.I highly recommend but I would wait for a sale to buy this.

This is one of the best small train sets we have ever bought (and we have plenty!) My 2.5 year old packs this set up and takes it with him when we have meetings or other events where he has to be quiet. He plays on it for hours!! Most of the material is good, but we did have one track break. Nothing terrible because it still connects, but the hook did break. Overall, we are so pleased!

Purchased this train set for my toddler, who loves trains. The trains themselves are nice, though the magnets are weaker than other train sets we own (they pull apart without much force). The accessories that come with are a nice touch and make the set even more interactive. We had to temporarily remove the crane as my toddler turned it into a medieval weapon, but older kids would do just fine. There are lots of tracks to use for a variety of layouts, so switching up play is easy. I think this would also work well as a gift and would recommend!

I have only had this a week but my two year and I love it!!! Easy to put together and the pieces seem high quality. The whole kit is really fun. I imagine some of the paint will chip off over time but I don’t care. All the pieces fit together well. I love that it comes in its own storage case—and fits easily!!
