Yes It smells strong like paint, but I think is part as a new product, my son love it, good product, takes some time to assemble but is not a big deal, just the arriving time takes more than expected, but was a good purchase.

This bed is really cute and easy to put together. Since our baby is only 15 months, the door opening is against the wall to keep her from crawling out. A star was taken off because the paint is very thin and it chipped easily while removing one of the part labels used for assembly.

The first part I pulled out was cracked straight out of the box. I inspected a couple other pieces and it looks like they got damaged during the manufacturing and they just did cheap patches with paint to cover it up.

The bed is nice but is not sturdy, you get what you pay for in this case. The paint on the chipped very easily when I moved it across the room. Was fairly easy to assemble but the instructions are not the best. I would not repurchase and would return, but I threw out the box so didn't even bother. There are gaps between the bed and the mattress so please be aware of things falling to the side. Also please note that there are no slats for the bed, the bed will be on the floor.
