It deflects airsoft bullets. I'd say it fits 12 year olds up.A little baggy on the waist though but is pretty good.

If you're getting this for your kid to do Nerf, or even gel blasters, this is fine...If you're getting this for airsoft, find something else. The front mag pouches are not large enough for anything more than a pistol mag. Most Airsoft guns use 556 or 762 sized magazines and none will fit in this vest. The pouches are also stitched onto this vest, which is a mess.The fitment on my 12 year old was great though. I think this vest should switch over to Molle webbing to make it more customizable for a wider range of outdoor activities.

We bought this for our grandson to use as part of his Halloween costume. He loved it. You never know what kind of quality something is going to be when it's a decent price, but it was nice. He is 9 and it fit well.
