This would be great in every single window of a nursing home. I'm bedridden right now and it brings me joy. It only works in the BRIGHTEST full sun. So it goes off a few times a day on my window and the whole room gets sparkly. It reminds me to look out the window. To take a moment to be mindful.I put down the curtains and they knocked it off. So, I have to be a little careful. But it's great. Mu toddler knocks it down. He loves looking at the gears inside. It's a great lesson on how cogs and wheels interact.Very cool. Kinda delicate. There should be one in every long-term stay hospital patient window if the person is whimsical. Same for old folks homes. This reminds me to look out the window and take a moment to be HERE right now. Grounding.Update: I lost this after it fell off so came back to get a replacement. The price is out of control. $50 is INSANE for this item. It's worth $10 at most. I paid like $30, I think and it was too much. But $50 is laughable for what you get. It's delicate, finicky, and only works with REALLY bright sunlight. ANY touch will break it or knock it down. I will not buy a replacement at that price.

Great little device while it's working. I have had one for many years, but came in the other day and found it making a strange noise and not turning. Seems one of the little gears split and stopped it from turning. Currently it costs too much so I can justify replacing it, knowing it will eventually fail because of the plastic gears. The little gears on the shafts are pressed on and that causes a lot of pressure on the gear which will eventually lead to it splitting. Being warmed by the sun probably doesn't help..

I just got this a little while back, and it’s already not working. When it did work it was great, it did work as described and it was nice to have it in the room. But, it just decided to stop work, no reason, it just hangs there in the window. Really quite disappointed with it, and it too late to return/replace it.

So lovely to see all the rainbows dancing all over the kitchen. If you don’t see them try a different window or location to get an optimal show! I gave one to a friend who had to experiment with it but found a good location and said she just loved it!

I ordered this for my east window behind my desk. The sun activated the colorful gears, and then I had rainbows all around this room, the other rooms connected...they just circled and spun around my rooms as long as the sun struck the small solar panel. What a treat! I have sent them to several family members who loves rainbows too. (But who doesn't??)

Kirklands seems to have a monopoly on this beautiful little mechanical crystal. I have had mine for several years and it is just starting to come to the end of its usefulness now. The mechanics on the inside have stopped working pretty much that being said I bought one for my niece for Christmas and of course she loves it. What’s not to love? It’s really pretty what it is the price point could be a little bit lower. That said, I will continue buying them in the future because they’re so beautiful.

This is a great little rainbow maker. It does depend upon it's placement in relation to the direct sunlight it receives. At a certain time of day, I have tiny little rainbows move around the room.

Riempe la stanza di piccoli arcobaleni che danzano sulle pareti, mette allegria, mette buonumore, è allegro e di buon auspicio... Ultimamente abbiamo bisogno tutti di un po' di colore e un po' di ottimismo in questa vita e questo piccolo aggeggio, con una semplicità quasi banale, ci mette del suo dando un contributo di gioia. Prendetelo!Addendum: ne ho comprato un secondo da regalare ad una coppia di amici... dopo averlo visto funzionare in casa nostra ne sono rimasti davvero innamorati ed è stato un regalo graditissimo...
