I have been on a kick to try a few different water soluble crayons. These Kingart Gel Sticks are creamy, vibrant, and blend well. Honestly, aside from Neocolor II's, they are comparable to other brands, but cheap enough that I wouldn't mind letting other people use them.

As a paper crafter I use a lot of different mediums when I'm making cards, invitations and such and these KingArt Studio Mixed Media Gel Sticks (Set of 24) is a perfect and easy way to add beautiful color to any project. These can be used with water for a sheer wash of color or straight-up for rich, bold color. The texture is so smooth and can be blended as desired. All the colors in this 24 pack are gorgeous and will be used for a variety of craft projects. The Gel Sticks come in nice storage cases as well. Very pleased with this purchase and would definitely buy again.

I just learned about these through some YTubers I watch for junk Journaling. I love them! They are vivid colors. So many are in the set. They are creamy and smooth. If you like working with different art mediums try these! I like the way you can draw and then add water to expand what they can do. You can also take a wet brush to the top of the crayon and use the color onto the brush then onto your paper. I'm 52 and am so happy with these! I'm getting the metallics and then the pastels too!!

I'm new to gel sticks and wanted to try them, These are an economical alternative to the Faber Castell brand. I use them for backgrounds in coloring books and they do a good job. Nice color selection. I use an upturned plastic lid for application. I rub the crayon on top of the lid to mix with a bit of water or can use them dry with a brush. You can apply directly to paper then wet the paint. I would recommend them for coloring backgrounds.

I purchased these because they were inexpensive and I wanted to compare them with some things I own that are somewhat similar, mainly my set of gelatos (I have most of the colors already) and my Distress Crayons (have every color of those). I have found that the texture of these is creamier than both of these and the colors just seem to be more bold on my papers and canvases. I have also found them easier to blend, keeping in mind that I blend almost exclusively with water, not by smudging with my fingers or tools. If you are considering them I would highly recommend purchasing them. They are an inexpensive alternative to Distress Crayons and Gelatos and work at least as well if not better!

I love to art journal. I was wary of this Kingart collection because the price was so low. Not to worry—this collection offers bright, smudgeable, smooth colors. I love Distress Crayons and Gelatos but I find my “go to†is the Kingart collection. I love their variety and shades of the basic red, orange, green and even black.I recommend these for all art journalists and actually any artist. I think young children should be closely supervised because they are so smooth and fun; walls, tables and siblings would be too tempting.

I've tried several different brush types, a few different paper types, and they just smear. They don't blend. Like at all.. you can blend them on your fingers, but not on the paper. You cannot blend them on a sponge. You cannot put them on a pallet and send them out to get them to work properly. Not a product that I will buy from any company because I do not see how this could be made to work properly without a lot of extra work.

Didn't know it was possible to fall in love with packaging. I bought these as a substitute for Faber-Castell Gelatos to use for stamping and watercolour. So, in my case, apply a wet brush to gel stick to transfer colour to paper. Days when I want low mess. I tried to wind one fully up. The length of product you receive is nearly the whole length of the stick. Sturdy, well thought out packaging for transport and storage. There are clips holding the plastic box together. The caps on the gel sticks are a little stiff to get off though. I thought the barrels might be too fat to hold comfortably, but they're not. There's even a ridged black area around the neck. This product deserves a good design award! It's basically a cream, water soluble wax crayon. Like a water soluble oil crayon. No smell at all. Great value. So glad I bought them.

I absolutely love these gel sticks! They are so versatile. Great range of colours and fantastic texture. They can be blended and used to create transparent 'glazes'. You can use them on paper or canvas. If you are a mixed media artist, you will love these.
