I've seen KINGART art supplies on Amazon for years, but I never ordered any before. I was recently looking for an inexpensive filbert brush for watercolors, when I came across this one - the KINGART Premium Radiant No 8 Filbert Series Artist Brush made with synthetic Taklon, No 8. I admit it - I was skeptical, but the very low price and mostly very positive reviews convinced me, so I ordered one for a whopping $4.99.You know what? This is a super brush! I didn't see that coming. It's similar to a Princeton Heritage or Velvetouch - not as soft as synthetic squirrel, more like Kolinsky. The handle is glossy and comfortable in the hand, it's not peeling at all; the ferrule is tight, the bristles stay in place.This is a great little brush for florals, but it's also good for small washes with no streaking at all. It holds a lot of water and paint, and if you use the side, you can get a pretty fine line, too. I liked it so much that I've already ordered a No. 12 - it just arrived, and so far, it's just as nice as the No. 8 - smooth, comfortable handle, tight ferrule, no bristles coming out, and excellent for florals. I'll probably end up with a few of their round brushes over time. I own a lot of brushes for watercolors, and these may become favorites, despite my owning brushes costing from 3x to 8x as much. So far, the KINGART Radiant series brushes are great to paint with and overall good quality - and a great value.

If you're serious about painting, buy good brushes. These are really good. Spending money on Hobby Lobby brushes is a waste.
