The quality of this gaiter is excellent, like every product I’ve ordered from Kingfisher. The material is sturdy/thick enough to provide good sun protection without being too thick to handle the heat. The stitching on the product I received was also of high quality, so I expect this to be more durable than other gaiters I’ve owned. There’s nothing magical about it, but it’s good for what it is, hence the reason I give it five stars. I intend to use this for days where I expect to have to pull the gaiter on and off repeatedly.HOWEVER, for long days out on the water under the sun I would recommend Kingfisher’s Tech Sun Gaiter instead. I own and have reviewed that one too, and although it’s slightly more expensive, I think it’s definitely worth it for the advantages of breathability and coverage. That said, both of Kingfisher’s gaiter options are winners in my book, and they’re both a great value (the tech gaiter in particular), so I have no problem recommending folks to buy both.

I work outside in a harsh desert environment and gaiters are an everyday part of my sun protection. I've tried and used many different brands of gaiter. I prefer mine a bit lighter and looser than this one. I love the design but will probably use mostly in colder, more windy conditions as the breathability is average. The stitching is really good. It is not seamless though. I just cut it out, but would suggest going tagless in future iterations. Price is about what you'd expect.

Kingfisher everything is a great value for the cost. My husband will be taking this on a father son fishing trip. I am grateful he can use it because there have been too many mishaps as far as sunscreen goes with me not there to nag them about re-applying it! :) It looks to be soft, the seams are nice-functional, and of good quality. I recommend this product to other outdoors people/fishermen/women. It would be great to have while camping or hiking as well. Thanks so much!

Working outside this winter has been a real treat, what with temps as low as -35°F and wind whipping the life out of you. After feeling like my nose was going to fall off a few too many times, I decided to do something about it and that's where this gaiter comes in! It has seriously made the difference on these freezing and windy nights, I can tell you that much. It's not specifically targeted for cold per se, but it certainly does the job.

I got this for use on a multi-day cycling expedition across a desert area.I have a large head—the gaiter fits perfectly with sufficient stretch not to be uncomfortable. It’s constructed from lightweight Lycra so should breathe and wick moisture effectively.Unlike quite a few other clothing items designed to protect against UV exposure, there are no ventilation holes in the fabric, which is better for UV protection, possibly at the expense of holding in a bit more body heat.White is of course the best to reflect heat, so happy to see that it’s available in white.

The Kingfisher Sun Gaiter is a fairly typical low/mid-quality sun gaiter. Unfortunately, some of the information on the product description is incorrect. The sewn-in tag (which will need to be cut off to reduce scratchiness) states that it is made of 90% polyester and 10% spandex (not 100% polyester). Also, while it is possible to breathe through the gaiter, it's not really a "breathable" material. It might feel tight for some, because although the gaiter stretches, it's not the softest or silkiest stretch fabric. The material has no special moisture-wicking technology, and it will get smelly fairly quickly just like most synthetic fabrics do. This gaiter will provide some sun coverage when you need it and it does feel as if it will be durable. Wash instructions state that it can be machine washed, but not tumble dried or wrung ("Do not wring"). Overall, it's an average product.

I learned my lesson the hard way kayaking down the Susquehanna River fishing for smallmouth on a 92° summer day .. my legs , my arms, and the back of my neck got burned.. bad. Next time, I'll be bringing sunblock and this neck gaiter along not only on kayak trips but stream side fly fishing as well. The fabric is soft and UV resistant and is long enough to pull up over your nose and ears for added protection. This is my second KingFisher garment and both are of very good quality. This is lightweight and easily folds up to fit in a vest pocket too. I also fish in heavily populated deer areas so this will also help protect any exposed skin to potential tick bites.

Good gaiter with silky comfortable material. Fits snugly around the neck and stays up when pulled up to the chin and over the ears. This can be used to keep the sun off when hiking, biking, kayaking, golfing, yardwork, etc. This can also be used in winter to keep the neck warm. Nice design pattern. I call it water camo. This gaiter does have a single seam that I put on the left or right side and not the back of the neck since the seam seems a little annoying on the back of my neck but not on the sides. Probably just me. All around solid product.
