I experimented with several options before hiking rim-to-rim in the Grand Canyon with these. There are some that collapse down smaller, but these ended up being the goldilocks "just right" solution for me. Very sturdy, lightweights, and comfortable.

Update: revised to 5 stars. Seller is making it right. I would recommend these poles and this seller. These are comfortable poles and held up nicely so far with the exception of the basket. On my first hike using these poles the basket broke off the bottom and was lost. I contacted the company and we will see if they replace it. If they do then I'll give these 5 stars. While they are carbon fiber, they really aren't any lighter than aluminum poles... For the price though, I am happy with them with the exception of the part breaking on the first use...

Bought a couple of these for a trip my wife and I were doing to Glacier National Park. Set up was easy, be careful to not offer tighten, no issues if set up properly. Light weight, comfortable, and held up to a good beating on the trails over 5-days, I’m impressed and will likely get a set for my kids now.

My purchase choice was based on the poles having a nordic "foot" for asphalt and having an anti-shock mechanism. As far as I can tell, the poles are rigid, with no mechanism, spring or otherwise, for absorbing shock. The only other criticism I have is that the handle, although shaped nicely, is somewhat small and narrow for my hand size. Things I like about these poles are: (1) the latch handles are metal and lock securely, (2) the poles are very light weight, (3) the rubber feet are both a press-fit and threaded, so appear to be very secure, (4) the storage bag has a clever cinch near the bottom so accessories can be held securely at the bottom of the bag. If not for the false advertising, I would give this product 5 stars.

These poles are way better than the ones I already had. I wanted a second set so my husband could have walking sticks at the same time. These are lighter than my old ones and easier to adjust. No more having to twist the lock. This has a flip device that works really well. I liked them so much I ordered a second set and will give away my old ones.
