By the way, in case the American flag threw you, these are, in fact, made in China. That said, they really are made from a quality steel.This are, quite obviously, designed more for an industrial environment as they lack the smooth locking and polish that more expensive carabiners use. You can tell they are quickly made, with sloppy threading on the lock ring, but they do cinch tightly. It's not something you'd want to use if you were frequently unlocking and relocking these, and the clasp threads are fairly sharp (watch your thumbs, rope). The knurling is inconsistent, and not really great on any of them. Yet they are definitely functional.With this in mind, I would have ZERO hesitancy to hoist and suspend 50 lbs. from one of these, and I'd be will to go much higher if the need arose. Let's make sure we all understand that these are not for climbing, by the way. So, yes, good carabiners for semi-permanent to permanent use, or occasional use. For my purpose, they are going to be a semi-permanent solution and really are very good for the application.I'd buy these again for their utilitarian purposes, but I wouldn't buy them for "consumer" daily-life kind of uses.

This was a really great deal for a 20 pack of high quality carabiners. They will work great for any projects, keychains or anything else you need them for. The locks seem pretty sturdy too. I will be purchasing them again.
