***this product is not food grade rated because it is epoxy***I was able to put my childhood teapot back together because of this kit and I’m very grateful. I preferred a cleaner look so I waited for the epoxy to dry and I was able to scrape away the excess. Also wiped away excess while it was still wet and I firmly pushed the pieces together until the epoxy took hold. Be sure to arrange your pieces before you mix anything and make sure everything fits together correctly. Make sure you mix together enough epoxy to do one piece at a time because it dries V E R Y quickly. Remember to take your time! I ended up just missing one piece but I was able to fill in the gap with the epoxy and it did the job. I’m happy to say that this epoxy is water proof but definitely make sure you hand wash whatever it is you’re using this on. Overall a good product and labor of love.

This is a wonderful product, but it hardens very quickly. I had already used another type of glue, so I was trying to paint the gold over the other glue. That did not work particularly well. My project looks pretty messy. If you START with this product, I think it would create a lovely effect, and I wish I had not attempted another type of glue first. It was difficult for me to work quickly enough. I kept having to mix more and went through it very quickly on a large item ( a large, ornamental flower pot.) It would be worth it to buy two sets and have one around for "emergencies' or to do practice projects before you begin the one that is most valuable to you. If I had undertaken the project with this product first, I think I would really have enjoyed the process and the product.

It is easy to use and has a beautiful effect! I recommended it to a friend. She was thrilled also! You may think your broken pottery/china is ruined but there is hope!Practice before using it as the glue dries quickly. Have a plan!

The epoxy works great in terms of drying quickly and getting the bowl stuck together again. However, when it dries or even in general, the gold is very cheap appearing and the consistency is not what is desired for a ceramic bowl. It looks very stuck on. I had chunks of my bowl missing so I could only really fill it with the gold epoxy, and it turned out looking lumpy and weird so unfortunately, unfortunately not keeping this piece

Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with a golden glue. It’s a metaphor for life — and it’s life-changing. This product delivered all that it promised... and more!My wife Jane and I made our first Kintsugi piece of meaningful art last weekend. What started as a $12 ceramic vase purchased at a discount home products store has instantly been transformed into one of our most valued treasures. We didn’t do a great job with it. But that’s part of the beauty. The smudges, the unpatched hole in it, the messy streaks, the part that’s slightly uneven — it all equates to our beautiful lives well-lived, with all the pain and brokenness that comes along with life. The most important thing is that we have reassembled the broken pieces and we haven’t tried to hide the imperfections, but rather, we have celebrated them, highlighted them, embraced them, and we have learned from them.Jane recently recovered from a life threatening stage four breast cancer battle. Last year, I almost died of a pulmonary embolism. Kintsugi represents the broken pieces of life that can be reassembled and made even more beautiful. That once broken vase now has a place of honor in our household, much like we honor each other — with all of our faults, imperfections, injuries, and illnesses. We talk about Kinstugi in my film, WALKING WHILE BLACK: L.O.V.E. Is The Answer, in my book, L.O.V.E. Is The Answer, and in our L.O.V.E. Is The Answer workshops, webinars, and classes. It is one of the most meaningful and beautiful practices of art on earth. You don’t have to be an expert artist to create something through Kintsugi that you will cherish. We’re doing our second vase this coming weekend, but not to get better at it, just to enjoy the process — the practice — of Kinstugi. We highly recommend this product. So much so that we purchased kits for a dozen of our leadership team members so that they can experience it too. And, we are interested in purchasing more!

The primary fail here is the epoxy material. It cures much too quickly and to the entirely wrong consistency. It's more of a rubbery caulk than a securely bonding material. It makes for a clumsy, messy, difficult to control repair. You will not be sanding this smooth or wiping off a little excess adhesive ooze. You will not be applying any sealers or clear-coat to the project. Also, apart from the pigment powder, the other box contents are not particularly useful. You get a pair of gloves. In this time of plague, who doesn't have a few dozen nitrile gloves around? A couple of very oddly shaped porous cardboard mixing trays, a few coffee stirrers. If you like to do things the hard way:This will work IF one skillfully and swiftly mixes very small amounts of adhesive and pigment and expertly places one shard at a time, without interfering with space for the next shard. Repeat. At that skill and practice level, you don't need a kit. You've probably already got better suited adhesive, just have to hit a good art supply store for the pigment.I have a lot of projects going on, so I took a short-cut. I didn't want to figure out what materials would work best for this application and I hoped the kit would help. It didn't.I looked at the sloppy pics, and figured there were just a lot of clumsy folks out there. Well, there are, but this stuff is exceptionally awkward to work with.

The kit was very good. It was relatively easy to apply and looks very nice after it's cured

I am so happy with this product. It’s exactly what I wanted to fix a glass bottle that I broke. The instructions are easy to follow and the end result looks so beautiful.
