I was looking for a way to lock a sliding extension support at variable lengths and I decided I would use a cam lever to tighten the two surrounding pieces sandwiching the sliding extension support in between them. I wanted something larger than a bike wheel lever, and this is it. I got the 5/16" and probably could have done with the 1/4". It's constructed of solid metal, long enough to close easily, and broad enough to operate comfortably. I'm about to buy another for a similar product. Exactly what I was envisioning for this project.

This is a solid, well-designed cam lever. Have tried the blue anodized cam lever, but this one is far superior in my view. The smooth, rounded handle is far more comfortable to operate (especially at higher clamping forces) and is far more robust. The cam clamping action is smooth and consistent even when clamping thick (12 gauge) stainless steel tangs. Well worth the higher price tag.
