This little gadget did exactly what I needed! It was so easy to turn my slides into photos. There were things like this for hundreds of dollars. I’m glad I went with this item because it worked wonderfully and saved me a ton of money!! I cannot tell you if it works with negatives or not. Well worth the money spent!!

I would have loved it if it held the negatives tighter and flatter, and maybe had a wheel to advance them rather than just manually pushing them through. It's a little hard to get negatives in focus if they are old and have curled a bit since it doesn't hold them tight enough to flatten them completely. But all in all, it worked well enough to get the photos digitized.The resolution doesn't come out as good as if you're having them professionally scanned, and the colours are off because you're relying on your phone and the amount of darkness you can reach in your home environment. But it does the job pretty well considering how inexpensive it is. It feels sturdy and is easy to use.

The KLIM K2 Film Scanner arrived in a black and silver box packaged like a high-end product. My first impression was to verify I received the correct product.Once unwrapped and batteries inserted (batteries included), I turned on the power and note that if in a low light room, the light is extremely bright. After snapping the top to the base, the scanner was ready to go. Simple two-piece scanner, foldable and made of durable plastic with rubber mat to keep cell phone in position. The bottom of scanner has a semi rubber base to keep from sliding of the work area. Downloaded the Kodak app as suggested and ready to go.The instructions say to turn the scanner on and then insert film. I found it difficult to insert the film strip with the light blinding me. Inserting the film first then turning the scanner on worked out better. Once I aligned the cell phone which is not a new phone S10Plus. I was able to align the cellphone and use the screen to enlarge the photo to fit the area. Before saving I played with the settings to see what enhanced the photo quality since the negatives were extremely old (around 40 years old). To my amazement the photos turned out better than expected. I thought I had lost these memories forever.It takes time to scan each negative one by one, but everyone wants big $ to scan them digitally and the possibility of losing them in the mail is worth the time. The scanner doesn't actually scan but reflects the image so that your cell phone camera captures the picture. I have purchased a few other converters that used the computer or very bulky. I found them to be very complicated and frustrating. They KLIM K2 scanner is small and portable which I take back and forth where ever I go. No electrical cords or wires to plug in. I didn't have any real issues with pixilation since I don't plan on making giant reprints. For such a simple well-made scanner it is amazing.

I downloaded the app in the manual and it didn’t work. The app for slides is 3days free then $40/yr, the app for film strip negatives is free for 3 days then $30/yr. Yes. You have to buy 2 different apps if you have slides and negatives. It’s very well made and a great idea, but the picture attached shows that the device doesn’t work. I had to return it.

The actual scanner is great: clever design, simple, easy to use. The mage quality may be perfectly fine for some users, but it's not the quality I was expecting.The problem is my iPhone 13 pro max. I've come to expect really good image quality from this phone, so I was surprised at how grainy (low res) the results were when scanning slides. I eventually figured out the cause: It's the iPhone's 'macro' mode. When you bring an object so close that the the regular lenses can't focus, the phone surreptitiously switches to the super-wide-angle lens. The change is so transparent that I was never aware it was happening. However, this means digital zoom, which means a low res photo.It's too bad, because the scanner is great, and the price is fantastic. Caveat Emptor.

I just started developing my own film and wanted a cheap way to scan my negatives to take a look at the results without dropping hundreds of dollars on a real scanner.This more than met my expectations! Very simple device and obviously not made of very quality materials, but the value is very good for the price. My negatives look very good. I haven't tried the app yet and may not even bother. I just take the picture with my normal phone camera (Google Pixel 6), transfer to my computer and then invert and make any edits using Gimp.I will note that I'm just doing black and white here so currently can't speed for color results.

No amount of adjustment and Photoshopping was able to produce a clear image reproduction. Print photos worked better than slides, but neither were able to produce focal clarity of the original.

I've been pleasantly surprised at how well this very inexpensive device works. It holds the camera in place just fine for taking pictures of the negatives. If it had a way of securing the camera other than the magnetic plate I'd be likely to give it five stars -- for people who don't use a flat case or have a pop socket on their camera, the magnetic plate isn't much good. Still, the textured surface keeps the camera in place well enough if you're just a little careful when taking the picture.Quite a few reviews complain about the app, and they have a point -- it's not very good. It does do the job, though, there are just no bells nor whistles in it. If you have access to Photoshop, a better approach is to skip the accompanying app altogether. Just use your phone's camera, then use Photoshop to convert the negative image to a positive. Ask ChatGPT how to do it; you'll have splendid, step-by-step instructions and can convert the images in no time.

It wasn’t expensive so I wasn’t expecting much. What arrived was this device in Apple iPhone quality packaging. I was stunned and I’d not put it together yet! It was easy to assemble using the amusing instructions sheet and installed the batteries (comes with batteries at this price, amazing).Tried it with my iPhone 13 mini and this is where it failed. My phone won’t focus close enough, maybe yours will. I didn’t downgrade it from 5* as I have an old iPhone 7 which focussed OK. I scanned my slides and the results were brilliant, worthy of a 6â€x4†(150mm x 100mm) print. If I wanted a larger print I would need a better resolution than my iPhone 7 gave me but hey it was good enough as far as I was concerned.These people sound like a good crowd and made a good product for an amazing price. I’d buy from them again, just be aware your phone needs to focus down to 4†(100mm).
