Im a commercial Journeyman electrician and I work with a lot of MC ( aluminum and steal) I was looking for cutters to use when I’m running MC off the reels for quick easy cuts.I used an old pair of Klein Bulldogs and bought a new version of that pair. The new pair couldn’t cut for crap so I send them back. I also tried 3-4 other “cutters†but with no success.What I will say is I was hesitant to purchase these due to the length of the handles and the torque it was going to be able to provide with the extra price tag on the pliers.Although the handles are short, they are the best cutters for MC currently on the market that’s at a reasonable size to fit in your daily bag.The durability seems good to date, although it does say don’t cut steel.For working on this field, I believe you need good tools so when your older your body wont be so damaged for the years of using dull cutters, so even if it did last only a year a two, it be worth it for the ability to cut so easily as it does.I don’t write it reviews but I feel obligated to because I’ve been on the market for a while for MC cutters and no pliers on the market is advertised for MC cutters. Most people twist the MC and cut the jacket with dikes, but when your running 1000’s or ft of MC daily you don’t got time for that jazz.

I bought these cutters because I do alot of solar power projects on my property. The 10AWG solar panel wire I use is not pure copper (too expensive). These cutters cut easily through the aluminum based wire. They also cut through 4 AWG pure copper battery cables easily.

Never will regret a knipex purchase and these are expensive but worth the price. If you use yours everyday wouldn’t even think about getting a different pair

Standard Knipex quality.I use these primarily as demolition cutters when gutting lighting fixtures. Upgrading old fluorescent lights to LEDs removes lots of old unnecessary wire. I can grab a handful of wire and cut it without any effort compared to side cutters. These easily cut MC cable. With some practice you can strip small wire with these.

These cable cutters are the best I have ever used. They cut cable without much effort at all and have a very comfortable grip. They are definitely worth the buy.

I have ratcheting cable cutters which I use on big wires so I found myself not using this that often. However, whenever I have to deal with SO cord this is the first thing I grab cuts and strips it like butter.But I don't fint it that comfortable for bigger wires, maybe I just tried on a size that was too large but I feel like any size I could cut with this I'd use my lineman's or strippers
