What I like most about KNITTED WIRE JEWELRY is that the finished pieces look like commercial jewelry, because they're made entirely of metal wire, sheet metal, and semiprecious stones. I purchased the book because I liked the necklace on the book's cover: that design is fairly representative of the pieces in the book. This book is an excellent addition to a knitter's technical bookshelf. About one-third of the book is devoted to tools, choosing materials, wire knitting techniques, and knitted jewelry techniques (e.g., wrapping wire, adding beads, forming sheet metal, applying a patina). The techniques are explained step by step, and the steps are clearly illustrated with large full-color photos. There are patterns for rings (5), earrings (6), bracelets (7), and necklaces (7). My favorite patterns are the Lily Necklace (the cover design), the Viking necklace, bracelet, and hoops (simple knitted metal cords), the Mixed-Link Bracelet (three sheet metal rectangles with knitted interiors, all linked together with knitted cords), the Leaf Earrings (a single leaf with wrapped-wire veins), and the Opal Rectangle Earrings (long, dangly strips with single pear-cut Peruvian Opals attached as pendants).Probably I'll never actually make any of these pieces, but the book gives me all the information I need to create my own professional-looking wire jewelry based on knitting techniques. Two other good books on knitted wire jewelry are Nancie Wiseman's , and Annie Modesitt's . Of the three, I like KNITTED WIRE JEWELRY the best, because of the excellent photographs illustrating the techniques, and the elegant simplicity of the designs.

This is really a very well explained guide and quite easy to follow. Instruments, tools, and materials are also exlpained, and there is a good deal of easy but impressive jewelry models. I don't rate it 5 only because I expected them to be more, but those available are also a good start for a beginner.

Miss-matched for my skill level. I look forward to the benefits of the book when as I become more proficient as a craftman. In the meantime, have passed it to my sister-in-law who is thrilled to have it!

I really wish I could ask the book publishers who decide what to include in the preview just exactly what the hell they're thinking. I don't need a bunch of info about findings or how to knit; I can find that info any number of places. What I want to find out from the preview is what PROJECTS the book offers, not a bunch of worthless info.

The best part of this book is the cover. The projects inside are amateurish and not at all like the cover project. I'm sorry I purchased it.

Knitting with wire, how unique and hard. Patterns easy to follow but I found the wire just too hard to work with. Came in timely manner well. Wrapped

The book contains some knitted jewelry projects with clear step-to-step explanations. I find it quite handy to have if you are an amator of handmade stuff.

most projects were very simplistic, not like the one shown on the cover.

Great book all round, the projects are great and it is fantastic for begingers. Really goes into detail about types of wire and stitches.
