Yes, this did work. It did fix the issue but I see a big flaw in the design of the way the carb is mounted using this gasket. Considering this is just normal gasket material Kohler is asking a lot out of it. It basically supports one of the mounting bolts for the carburetor where it should actually be a metal base point whereas the bolt would not push through the gasket. I would say between this gasket and the valve cover gasket would be 95% chance of these being your problem if your mower is smoking and losing power in addition to a steady surge that is very noticeable, especially at low rpm's. Sure this gasket works just fine but its almost like Kohler designed this motor to fail in order to get 300,000 owners to have to purchase 2 gaskets at $9 each. It adds up for sure. This toro LX425 is my first Kohler engine, I think I will stick with briggs moving forward.

This is the actual gasket. The part number is correct but the picture is wrong. Took a chance that the seller just used any gasket photo. Hope that helps. This is the gasket that goes behind the plastic intake bracket up against the block. I guess it's called a heat gasket but I'd consider it more a intake gasket. My engine is a Kohler courage 20 though many other engines use the same gasket. This is not included with a replacement carburetor and often times is ripped or damaged causing the engine to surge because it helps control the flow of air into the block. I had to dig around to find the right part number which led me here.

Fits with a stick adhesive, very nice surprise! I drlled a hole for my carb. Mt. , 1 min later joila, done. Did not have a factory gasket so glad I found this post carb. Overhaul. Helpful to know all sealed airtight.

There are three gaskets needed with a carburetor replacement and also between the air filter back cover and the engine block. This is only one of them. Fit is correct. Has sticky side for attaching in place temporarily until the bolts are installed and set.

Came as described and seems to be working just fine on the heat shield on my (Troy Built Horse XP) with 22 HP Kohler Courage engine.
