I use this in a medium sized pond filter. It filters great. They wash out well and you can reuse them.

This filter material may be better used in a filter different than mine. It's really affordable and came in a huge roll, easy to cut. The problem is that when I placed it into my pond filter in the pond (not the large external one), it sits in there right next to the intake and the material is so soft and suction strong, so that the filter medium was getting sucked into the intake and clogging it. It filtered great until that happened, as of course almost stopping the water flow doesn't help with filtering. I used it to replace the very stiff black filter material that was in there before, and it didn't work. Got new one like the old and works perfect again. I'm sure it there was some kind of grating over the water intake it would have been fine.

I was reluctant to spend a lot of money on filters... if you have turtles you know why. When they aren't busy purposefully knocking down, tearing apart, or simply just pushing themselves between it and the wall. Maybe my turtles are just unruly. Either way... this stuff was easy to push into the bottle I use for the filter, comes out easy, and cleaned the water up much better than anything else I have tried. Maybe not specifically designed for the way I use it. BUT I approve, AND the turtle cannot pull it out of the bottle, so I am happy. :) Clean tank, just pull and wash or switch the filter once a day. MUCH better. Thank you and I will purchase again. Oh, and the four stars for easy to wash is because... I'm sorry... is there such a thing as an EASY to wash filter? No, it's gross, it takes water, time and patience, cause TURTLES are messy eaters and love to tear up anything in the tank.

I've been happy with this stuff so far. It's pretty thick, and more durable than I expected. I've been using a couple pieces in the trays of a cannister filter for about 2 months and they're still holding up great. I just squeezed it out and put it back in the filter. This roll will last a long time at this rate, and much cheaper than the pre-cut branded pads I was using before.

I was a bit skeptical as the price was much cheaper than what the big box stores charge. There are plenty of different options to choose from so I went with this one because it was listed as being thicker.Altho it is the advertised height, the material is very "airy" or "fluffy". Not sure how to describe it but it is not as dense as the filter pads I am used to and they do not last as long after washings. They do trap debris & algae tho mind you.This as an OK purchase but next time I will try to find a sturdier filter pad. The company was very friendly and shipped the same day as ordered.

No complaints, the filter came as expected and was the correct thickness. I put the Peroni in the picture for scale, and because it’s delicious. I typically cut this into smalls 2â€x4†rectangles so that they will fit in my overflow. This should last a while and I plan to reorder when I run out. My only complaint is that it does feel a little less durable than other filters I’ve used, but I don’t anticipate it being an issue for my application.

Fantastic filter to use for my Koi pond we are reestablishing another pond I had a koi pond inwest virginia for twenty years and this type filter is great my 31 foot long Koi were beautiful. broke my heart to leave them but i donated them to a fish farm whose grandmother took them to her home where she has 3 koi ponds So I am working on another koi pond wish me luck having hard time finding koi fish here but I will keep trying
