I believe this works great for after surgery. Or if you just want to use it for other ideas as in sleeping. You can't beat the price. Very good quality i believe. It does serve the purpose. You just have to use common sense when using it.

Bought this to rest and sleep after eye surgery! Very comfy! 2 sides for cool or hot temps at night.Also can be used to sit up in bed to rest.

I had eye surgery and needed a face down pillow. I would give this pillow 5 stars, but when I am using it at night time the zipper pull in the hole hurt my chin. I tried covering it to keep the pull from contacting my chin. The zipper, also, made my forehead hurt. The zipper in the hole is the only complaint I have. It is comfortable otherwise.

This pillow is pretty fantastic, I gotta say. I originally got it in hopes that it might work to elevate my legs/ease some hip pain but so far all I’ve done is sleep on it (face up) instead of my regular pillow. On my back it feels like I’m laying on a slightly elevated lounge chair. I have also only used it with the extra wedge so that adds some height as well. I’m surprised that I actually stay put all night long but the shape of it pretty much keeps me from tossing and turning and my head nestles into the cut out area nicely. Of course, I tried the face down position as that is one of the main functionalities advertised but I’m not a stomach sleeper. It would work, though, since there is a space in the elevation wedge to provide air flow for breathing and if I can eek a massage out of someone this will be perfect.The pillow itself is rather large and heavy, well made with a nice cover that is velvety soft on one side and satiny on the other. I guess I’ve never had anything satin but I was really surprised just how cold that material actually feels so I could see this being nice in warmer weather. The stuffing seems like a chunky memory foam which feels rather lumpy to the touch but you can’t discern that texture when laying on it. The cover is also easily removable for washing, and I was impressed with the attention to detail as there are little fabric flaps over the zipper portion in the face cut out area to prevent your chin from irritation.My one gripe is that the wedge doesn’t seem to stay super secure despite 4 Velcro attachments. It doesn’t detach, it just kind of migrates over time. I’m guessing that could be mostly due to the fact that I’ve been sleeping on the velvety side so the wedge is on the slippery satin side.I would recommend this pillow for relaxing, sleeping, reading, watching tv, you name it. I also think it might be helpful for folks with heartburn or other conditions where elevated sleeping is necessary or preferred.

This face-down pillow with wedge supports works pretty good for neck & back massage. It is rather large and clunky to move or store. It might be an issue if you have motion-limitations and need to adjust it a lot. That said - it does what it is advertised for. This is one of those situations were your results may vary widely due to personal preferences, physical differences, and what you use it for.I got this primarily for face-down back & neck massage purposes. It works well for this. I can't imagine sleeping the night through with my face it in - it would get very hot and stuffy - too stuffy for ME. (maybe not you). I'm generally a side sleeper and cannot even imagine that this would work well on your side. I think for me, it is best as a temporary comfort during a limited face down time.The outer case is very well sewn. I added some photos showing the clever zipper system on the main pillow. There is one outer curve zipper, then another zipper "ring" for the middle of the whole. It separates just like a jacket or coat zipper would. It was a little fiddly to put back on - just like a coat, you have to align the pull up with the zipper sides. The zipper is good quality, but if you have arthritis or fine motor limitations you may need a little help to put it back together. Overall it wasn't that bad. I am definitely happy that you can remove and wash this cover. I did not wash yet, but the fabric seems typical that should wash up well if washed gently. I would not hesitate to toss in machine under gentle.While it is not perfect ( nor has any other that I have found) this is one of the better soloutions for not mashing your nose when getting your neck or back worked on.
